Overall, we are very pleased with the blinds. They were easy to install and took less than 5 minutes to do. They go up and down so smoothly! The only thing we noticed was that of the 2 we bought the one when pulled down rebounds about an inch. So, we just have to keep that in mind when adjusting it. They are made of a heavier material, so they adequately darken the room. I got them fitted to set inside the window so only have a sliver of light on the sides. ... show more

It was really important to me to be able to keep my blinds in the window, and I couldn’t find any retractable shades that installed into the sides of the inner window frame while keeping the blinds too. Oh well. I ordered these in the exact size of my window frame width, hoping I might be able to install them inside, but since they only mount from the top or back, I ended up installing them outside of the frame. However, I do think I like this better. They look a lot more blended in than I expected - you can hardly notice it’s a separate assembly. I even kept the valence for the blinds back there. The installation was very easy, and the shade seems to be well made. It retracts smoothly, and is easy to operate both up and down. My one and only complaint is that it does sit a bit far off of the wall, so there’s quite a gap where the light comes through, even with the blinds completely closed. But it’s a lot darker than it was without the shade (I did not want to give up those curtains, even though they are not blackout), so overall I’m very happy with the result and my toddler is finally napping again! ... show more

The good news - it is incredibly easy to install and took less than 10 minutes total. The material won't let light through at all. The shade retracts easily and we haven't had any problems with it. The bad news - we purchased a 72" shade and while it opens for all 72", 3 inches retract back into the roller leaving a 3 inch opening at the bottom of the shade that lets morning light into the room. The company sells a 75" shade; wish I had known about the retracting issue before ordering. ... show more
