  • Man, is this vise HEAVY! And PERFECT!
Style: 8" Machinist Vise
My dad gave me a beautiful bench vise 50 years ago. Sadly, some time ago, someone decided they liked it more than I did, and it grew legs. I've been looking for a replacement for a long time. I was a little apprehensive about this vise, but I decided it was worth a try. I'm REALLY glad I did, because this vise is exactly what I needed - even larger than my old one, but every bit as versatile and useful! I LOVE IT! ... show more

  • It's a Vise! Yes It Works Well.
Style: 5" Quick Release Bench Vise
Easy to mount on the steel table I made. Strange that the rotating locks did not have a bar to tighten or loosen the bolts, but this is better. Use a old 18 mm box wrench and just leave it on the bolts to adjust. The quick adjust function is great and works smooth. Kind of small anvil pad to work with but is there and does the job. The hammer tone paint is alot stronger than I thought it would be, hasn't chipped yet. The jaws open alot farther than they are wide, bonus. the rear jaw sits out past the edge of my table, another bonus. Good grip with little pressure applied to vise jaws. Good buy so far. ... show more

  • Good size vice for the everyday handyman
Style: 4" Machinist Vise
I needed a vice for projects around the house. I got this based on other reviews, and have not been disappointed. It's sturdy, smooth operating, and has a nice anvil area to work on. The one thing I'd mention is that it comes slathered in grease, so if your not careful it gets on everything. Im not a professional here, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I know general quality and have been happy. Overall, i recommend it! ... show more

  • NOT a heavy duty vise as advertised!
Style: 8" Machinist Vise
Cast jaw broke under normal operation. Vise was discounted by Amazon as having minor scratches. Wilmar used this loophole to say the vise was used and therefore would not stand behind their warranty. Wilmar also told me there were NO REPLACEMENT PARTS! Look elsewhere for a quality vise. Amazon did make it good. ... show more

  • Great Vise
Style: 4" Machinist Vise
I received this vise, and I have been extremely happy so far. It attaches with three bolts (not included) and it is very heavy duty, and seems to be very strong. I have used it to hold my heavier chain saws while I sharpened them, and for a few smaller projects, and it has met my expectations completely. It has quite a large sliding mechanism, and the jaws open much wider than prior vises that I have had. I did have to clean it with WD40 to get the slightly sticky packing grease off, but after a fresh coat of lubrication oil, it works smoothly. ... show more

  • Works good for good price
Style: 4" Machinist Vise
Good little vise. Only use it for appropriately sized jobs. Downside is it is not black like the picture but a yellow color. But you could paint it

  • Good vise
Style: 4" Machinist Vise
The vise came packed well. Good vise for a home owner or light work. The anvil on it does good. Good vise to sharpen lawn mower blades and axes and any outdoor yard tools. Buy it, I would recommend it. Vise needs to be greased before use.

  • Will buy again if it was stolen or broke on me.
Style: 6" Machinist Vise
This replaced a Craftman bench press I purchased at sears. So far, this Wilmar 6"er has outperformed it and taken A LOT of pain and discontent. From using a 4 feet steel pipe to pry my entire weight, to hammering over it, accidentally dropping it on the concrete while transporting it, to harsh and humid temperatures, this is the press to buy! If it ever broke, or was stolen, I will confidently purchase the same one once more! The mounting base has a pivot which allows you to fully rotate it about 180 degrees. I would've liked it rotated 360 deg all around, but that's asking for too much, specially with the low price for one of this. ... show more
