Description

Size:Small - 5" x 9.25" Flap Size Whether you live and work in the great plains or north where the temperature plummets, or in the south- east or west where summer is endless, the cost of energy has sky rocketed. So, either heating or cooling the back yard with an old fashioned pet door just won't do anymore. In some cases the energy waste is like opening and closing the door itself 4 or 5 times a day. The all-weather door's air pocket between 2 soft flaps, making it a great energy efficient insulator is the answer. The all weather series in small, medium, extra large and super large are designed to give an air pocket of up to 3-inch between the 2 flaps in a door installation. And with the available wall tunnel kit, an air pocket of up to 9-inch. This is serious energy efficiency

  • Updated Review. 3 years and 4 months later!!!!
Size: X-Large (Pack of 1)
Update 3 years and 4 months later!!!! This door is awesome. I live in NE PA, It has gone through the coldest winter on record, Also several major snow storms, the largest over 24 inches. And it was moved to a new storm door as well. And I must say that the only maintenance it needed was to be cleaned every now and then. December 8th 2015 to present day. Well worth the money. Owned this now for 17 months. I wanted to wait a while before giving a review. I would definitely do 5 stars. 1st I own two Australian Shepherds. One is 80 lbs, the other 70 lbs. I live in Northeast PA, I work 5 days a week, and have this door mounted in my storm door in my kitchen. The dogs have freedom to go outside in the fenced in yard from 6:30 AM to whenever I am ready for bed. I have gone through 2 single flap doors in 2 years. I got one season out of each. One of witch was over $100. So when I bought this I was a bit skeptical but wanted to try. My main complaint of the single flap design, other than they fell apart, is in the winter when the wind blew it would blow the flap wide open. Not good when it's in the single digits outside. This door really held up to the wind. It even survived the blizzard we had in March. It did start to actually freeze up from melted snow re-freezing on the flaps. But it was a blizzard. So long story short, my dogs run through this door probably 50 times a day, two dogs, that's 100 or more times the flap is used per day. And it still is in good shape 17 months later. I should get one more winter out of it, maybe more. But for the abuse it takes I would buy another in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • Love this door!!
Size: X-Large (Pack of 1)
We installed this door about 1 month ago; It took about 30 minutes tops. The key is to be careful to cut the opening so the door will hang level and match up the screw holes, so they are all fastened securely. If you are at all handy with a saw, installation should be a breeze. We have 4 very active herding dogs (35-45 lbs) and they all go in and out of this door at least 30 times a day with no hesitation. This has saved my sanity!!! I used to get up and down so many times a day to let them in and out, but no longer and life is now great! We have not had any issues as some other reviewers with the magnets or the flaps shutting properly or staying shut. I think making sure it is level will resolve most of these issues. I was hesitant to get such a large door (ordered the large size), but I was concerned with our oldest dog having to bend down. I am glad I did. Also make sure you put it at the proper height so they can easily walk in and out. I am sure I will have to replace this eventually as sometimes there are 2 dogs squeezing out the door at the same time, but I will gladly buy another if needed. That is how much I love this door. ... show more

  • Should have been Perfect for giant breeds
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought this Jan. 2018. It's now Dec. and I'm changing my review from perfect for my giant breed and smaller dogs to say the product is flawed. The two vinyl flaps have warped and let air in all the time. I tried reshaping with a hair dyer but it didn't work. I've owned other large breed doors and those had thick ribbed vertical lines on the edges which I now believed kept them from warping. These are just flat strips of thick vinyl. I'm trying to figure out what I can glue to the edges to prevent that and still remain flexible. I'm open to suggestions and I hope the manufacturer corrects the problem right away. What I like is The two separate flaps are clear so the dogs can see to the other side and not run into each other. I installed in a bedroom wall and attached a dog house to the outside wall so the large opening isn't visible to neighbors. I choose to build my own frame in the wall rather than buy the kit. Easy except I couldn't find screws long enough to attach both sides. So I added an extension and cut thread to size. See picture ... show more

  • 1 Winter Down
Size: X-Large (Pack of 1)
we installed this in the fall and now that its spring i thought it appropriate for a review. the install is pretty straight forward, however, more complicated than you would think. you need to cut from both sides of the door when to meet up perfect is quite difficult. this is because your saw blade can waver and not be perfect on the top as the bottom as you cut. but once you have the hole the install is pretty straight forward. but it doesn't handle the cold super well. we are in northern minnesota and when it gets somewhere around -5F, -10F or so and colder, the clear vinyl door portion becomes stiff. When it becomes stiff it will not lay like it should when the dog goes through and leaves a gap where cold air can come in the house. This will also allow it to collect an icicle/frost or whatever from dog hair and dust, etc. and also not close like it should. Im not sure of a product that will handle this yet, but for the rest of the year we really love this and the freedom it gives our dogs. Also we got the extra large 10x17 or whatever size with 2 adult huskies. Our male being about 80#'s. He fits but its a little tight, he's just a little husky. ... show more

  • Dogs love it
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This is the thing ever. We got the biggest of the big for our 90 pound lab and he plus the other three dogs and our cat all use it not problem. It is kind of loud with the two flaps each time they go back and forth but it has been a lifesaver. Easy to install and looks great.

  • Would be nice to have the ability to lock the door without ...
Size: Medium (Pack of 1)
It works reasonably, but definitely has a few issues. The biggest problem is that the insulating brushes on the side are stiff enough to catch the door after the pet goes through, and prevent the flaps from closing. This leaves a reasonable gap for air to pass through, and completely voids the whole purpose of having a double-flap door for weather insulation. Another issue is that the magnetic holders on the bottom of the door were very stiff and had to be lubricated before they would work as intended by adhering to the flaps once they closed. Other than that, the door works reasonably. Would be nice to have the ability to lock the door without having to insert an entire panel (which is annoying to store when not in use), but that probably isn't feasible with the soft plastic used for the flaps. ... show more
