The unit worked for about 3 months of light use, then it started freezing up nd the supposed auto-defrost stopped working. Now it is a $300 door stop and neither the amazon seller or the Perfect Air manufacturer will do NOTHING to honor their BS 1 yr warranty. Spend your money elsewhere and avoid this brand and this amazon seller.

The unit is doing a good job of lowering the RH in my500 sq.ft. lower-level from 60% to 40%. It does raise the room temperature by blowing warmed air, but hey, that's how dehumidifiers work, people. I wouldn't say it's Super Quiet like the description says, hence the 4 stars. It has a fan and a compressor, so it will produce noise. I would say it's no louder than a room air-conditioner. Again, it is to be expected. We used the emptying feature for a few days and were dumping water about twice a day, after the tank filled half-way. I then got a lightweight 10 ft. 1/2" garden hose and the unit now drains flawlessly into a nearby sump pump. After the humid season, I will follow the included storage instructions and hope for a second season of use next year. So many reviews for any brand of dehumidifier site failure after only a few years. Regarding customer service, I received prompt phone and email responses from Perfect Aire to pre-purchase questions. So far I recommend this unit, and we shall see how it holds up over the next few seasons.

This Dehumidifier is very easy to use, and once you set it properly it's basically worry free. I have it in my basement, with the drainhose connected to a condensation pump. It's set to comfort mode, timer set to run 10h on 5h off. It's working great, no more stale air or musty smell, and no more mold!!!!!!!!. The best is when it reaches 50% humidity it shuts it self off and it turns it self on when the humidity changes. Great product, will buy again. Hope this helps some one out there...

I purchased 2 dehumidifiers and had them for 13 - 14 months when they both were showing signs of malfunction. Since both showed signs a week apart. We thought it was getting closer to fall and finally dry enough that it wasn’t sucking up water anymore. We were wrong summer came around and plugged them both in a neither was sucking up the moisture. That’s very expensive to run 2 dehumidifier for 1.5 summers. $480.72 gone.
