The Penn & Teller VR Magic Lab is a really fun and clever way to introduce kids to both magic and basic STEM learning through virtual reality. The included VR headset works well with a standard smartphone, and the interactive content is polished and entertaining—exactly what you'd expect from Penn & Teller. My 10-year-old had a blast learning a few simple tricks, and the mix of virtual and hands-on activities really helped hold his attention. It’s a great way to build confidence, curiosity, and creativity, all while feeling like you're learning something “cool” instead of just reading a book. That said, setup takes a little patience—downloading the right app, adjusting the phone in the headset, and syncing everything took a few tries. It’s not overly technical, but younger kids will definitely need help from an adult to get started. Also, some of the voice instructions in the app could be a little more responsive. Still, for the price and educational value, this is a great gift idea for any curious kid who loves magic, VR, or tech-based learning tools. It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun and memorable experience that encourages screen time with a purpose.

This product claims to create a VR experience so the budding magician can learn from directly Penn and Teller. Our son likes to do magic tricks, which is why we purchased this set for him for Christmas. The VR absolutely does not work. The tricks are less than okay. Because of the names Penn and Teller we purchased this., I’m disappointed such talented performers would put their names to this product, because they are the reason we bought this. We need imagined Penn and Teller would uplevel children’s magic tricks, for the kids who truly want to perform. Not the case at all. Save your money and frustration and find a magic set or book of tricks and create your own set. This one uses smoke and mirrors and not in a good way…

I gave the magic kit as a gift and the recipient was excited. However, we both were disappointed to find that a small piece necessary for one of the tricks was missing, making it impossible to perform the trick that the piece involved. I contacted Abacus by e-mail message (without receiving a reply) and subsequently by telephone, asking whether it might ship the missing piece. The customer service agent was very nice but informed me that Abacus could not ship a single missing piece and that, since the kit no longer was in new condition, it could not effectuate an exchange. Thus, there is no obvious remedy should your kit be missing one or more parts.

This is really amazing. My husband and I have used it often. You have to download an app and your phone is what makes the goggles vr. Still really cool I would definitely recommend it
