Got his on sale for less than $50us. The seller did an outstanding job with packaging. I coupled with a Penn Pursuit 4 4000 reel. Best bang for your buck if find both on sale. This is all you need to get started with Surf Fishing.

I’m sure the rod is great, but I wouldn’t know. Amazon delivered it missing the top half. I returned it for a replacement, the replacement was again missing the top section of the rod. Now I’m only eligible for a refund and the price has gone up if I want to order it again. On top of that, I’ve had to make two out of the way trips to a UPS store to return both wrong items. Penn gear is great, but Amazon can’t seem to deliver on this one. ... show more

Finally received a rod not damaged. I'd say this company needs to concentrate on packaging correctly especially if using UPS. Both times I received rods there was no packing in the box to protect it. The rod is nice though.

Used it for surf fishing. I love that it’s a 2-piece rod. Easier to carry and transport. I’ll say that it is durable for its length. I was a little worried about the stiffness being too much to be able to feel a bite. But it’s not bad. Takes a little bit of time to get used to casting and feeling for it if you’ve never used a longer rod before. ... show more
