First, the lid is on hinges and reseals. Now onto the review. I've been using the same sponge cups since I started tattooing. I don't use them every time, but when I'm doing a lot of coloring, or using a small amount of like colors or doing grayscale, then I use a cup. I'll turn the machine off and just touch the tip to the sponge and off I go. It keeps it from gunking up and works great for me. I guess I'm switching cups, these are just too good for not much difference if you buy 32. One reason, the plastic container. The ones I use now are in containers like what your carts come in. They just aren't stable, they tend to slide around more, and I always bend the cup opening it. These the container opens nicely with a little clip that you pull on. So if you aren't going to use it for a little bit you can close it to keep it wet. They aren't flimsy and they tend to stay where you set them down. They're just so much nicer. And 32 for $15 is a great deal. That's under fifty cents a unit. It's little stuff like this that my clients like to see. I keep everything so organized and sterile in my area, and things like this not only help, they look good. I'd definitely recommend these to professional artists. But even if you're just learning, these are worth it. Being able to open and close them to reuse if you're practicing on fake skin will save you money in the end because you'll use less. 100% value worth every penny.

These lightweight, disposable, square dip foam boxes are so handy! Although they're made of a lightweight grade of plastic which is similar in thickness to some plastic drinking cups, they can certainly be reused. Their flip-up lids really do form a leak-proof seal, so that opens up other possible uses for these containers in addition to cleaning tattoo pen nibs. I'm already envisioning how helpful they could be to clean artistic paint brushes and calligraphy nibs. If the sponges are removed, the boxes could preserve paint from drying out between painting sessions, and also could provide a way to keep paint colors separate. These small plastic boxes are able to be stably stacked, which conserves storage space. A ridge around the bottom of each plastic box fits just inside a groove on the top of the lids, which prevents them from slipping when stacked. The sponges are 1" thick and dense enough to poke studs, earrings or needles into for store. I think these containers would be appreciated by jewelry makers, craftspeople, and all sorts of other artists in addition to tattoo artists.

I love these! I have used them for tattooing and they are wonderful for cleaning out the needles if you are wanting to use different colors. Definitely a great addition for apprentices and tattoo studios. They’re easy to use; just add some water and when tattooing, dip your needle into the foam while the machine is running, and you will see the ink come out and go into the foam and the water. They can take a lot of ink before you have to throw them out. You could probably even reuse them if you squeeze out the ink and refill the cup. I wouldn’t do that for an actual tattoo session, however if you’re just practicing on fake skin, go for it.

Each cup was sealed and sterile, so no issues with quality. The outer box was a bit beat up when it arrived, but everything inside was intact. Really convenient when switching between colors—makes cleaning needles much faster during a session. A must-have for a tidy and efficient setup.

Priced okay for 16 fairly good size foam squares. The plastic for the container is very thin and breaks easily when opened but it's the foam that is needed. Can use for a while before tossing, overall good soft foam that does not break off.

These boxes are made of a plastic material that is thinner than I expected. Despite that, they work well and they close securely. After inspecting each one, I found no defects or damage. There was one box that didn't seem to close tightly at first, but all I had to do was just press around the perimeter of the lid and it snapped into place just like the other ones. My main complaint is the design of the hinge that connects the lid to the box. While functional, the protrusion makes storing the cups in the main box kind of awkward at times. Also, I'm concerned this thin connecting piece might eventually snap from regular use, though I guess that's a problem for future me to handle. Overall they work well, but the hinge design could be more robust.
