This is the perfect inshore reel for going after redfish or any other inshore species. Reel is smooth and works like fine tuned machine. For some odd reason Penn only includes the foam handle with the 2500 version of this reel (all others come with foam and gold metal handles) which is hard to understand, but I asked and they told me the 3500 gold metal handle will fit on it. I ordered that handle from a Penn dealer online and now this reel is perfect. If you like the foam handle to each their own, but I’m just letting you know how it will arrive. This has been my absolute favorite reel I believe Ive ever had! Ive caught numerous species of fish, fresh and saltwater. It has never let me down even once. Ive caught double digit large mouth bass, giant smallies and so on. This reel is paured to a Penn rod and has only ran braid. It still casts like crazy, is silky smooth and has tons or braking power for its size. 10/10 still recommending after a full years worth or work. My #1 go to reel/rod set up for anything 20#s and less. ... show more

Product is fine, nice Penn quality as usual… The only thing is that it came with the foam knob instead of the original metal one showing on the picture!

    • Only spare handle
This item comes with a handle and a spare handle and only the spare comes in box , false advertising on product not just by pic but videos saying it has two handles and u can return it for a $5 credit like that makes a difference.

The media could not be loaded. First off I'm a Penn guy. I have about 8 Penn reels from the Penn Battles to the Penn Clash's and Slammers 3 and now some Slammers 4! I was so Excited to have received this Slammer 4 2500 BUT what a disappointment!! The clicker on the drag does not work as it should! Also adding line (12lb braid) the reel was not reeling it evenly. I added a spacer and did not work so then I removed 2 of the spacers and again NOTHING! The braid was so on even that I just gave up! To many issues for a 200.00 reel! I have never ever had any issues with any of my Penn reels till this one came along! Not sure what's going on with it but I'm definitely sending it back for a refund! ... show more

Be cautious, this product doesn't come with the original hand grip, it only comes with the spare grip. Other than that it is good

Very smooth reel for penn! Not as light as my stratic but feels more robust and will be my go to for bigger fish in a smaller reel. Again this is not heavy at all but not the lightest I have. It’s a little tank though and it’s sealed so I love it
