I bought this cover for a Penn Slammer 3 8500. I am happy that it fits. I can loosen the handle and get it all in there without having to take it off. Its a nice secure snug fit. It is a good thickness and appears to be well made. I am a happy owner.

Used this for my penn 9500ss. Fit is tight, but works. Took handle off and placed in special pouch. Going to see if it will fit with handle collapsed instead of removed? Overall very good protection for storage and transport.

    • Great quality, but takes too long to put on
I bought this cover to go with my Penn Slammer 3 6500, ordered the large, and barely fit. It does it's job, but it's a hassle to put on. In order to get it on in the first place, I have to take the handle off my reel completely. Good thing it comes with a pouch on the front to store the handle, because there would be no where else to put it. I do like this cover, though. I represents my love for the brand with the proud Penn logo and it has amazing build quality. It's much thicker neoprene that what I've seen on a lot of other brands. If you get a reel that's on the upper end of their size for that range, just do yourself a favor and get the next size up. ... show more

    • It's a snug fit but it's perfect for me!
I received a Penn Fierce 2 6000 LL from my brother as a birthday gift and I decided that I should get a cover to protect this reel and show how much appreciation I have for what he gave me. I read reviews that said something about the cover size being too small for some live liner reels and that the Penn website was vague about the sizing. I decided to go for the XL and it was a perfect fit! It's made of thick and spongy material that will keep it protected if its dropped or dragged for any reason during transportation. I love the way it stores the reel and the lever in separate places so that they do not scratch up in storage. The only thing of concern is that the lever pouch closes with velcro and nothing else, leaving a small chance that the lever might be lost if the velcro did not engage properly. ... show more

I bought the XL spinning cover and covered a Penn 760L with it and it barley squeezed in there - had to stretch the neoprene a little. If your real is larger than a 760 - forget it.

This reel cover is exactly as described except that it can be difficult to size for a given reel. I bought this for a PENN Spinfisher VI 7500, but the fit is too tight for use on the rod. I can still use it for storage though. Order a larger size if you want to use it as a cover on rod. Good shape and neoprene material. ... show more
