    • Excellent Bandaging Tape & the Fun Colors Make it Hurt Less
I still have no clue why sellers market this product as “tattoo grip tape wrap.” How many tattoo artists can there be in the world?! For the rest of us, this product is a *must-have* item for every home first-aid kit. Whether you’re bracing a weak ankle or sprained finger, or bandaging a superficial wound, this is an AMAZING replacement for traditional Ace bandages which use sticky medical tape or those nasty metal clips with the pointy prongs that never seem to hold very well (and always seem to stick your finger). Plus, it works great on people and animals because it doesn’t stick to skin or fur. I ordered two brands of this product for treating and bandaging hot spots on my dog’s tail. I got one set of all-black tape and this product, which comes in 6 colors (well, 5 colors plus black). This product cost about 50% more per roll than the all-black rolls, but half a dozen rolls is not a huge expense and (embarrassing confession) I thought the colors were just a lot more fun than plain black. If you’re wrapping all four legs of a Clydesdale, by all means go for the cheaper black tape because you’re gonna use a whole lot of tape, but if you need only a few rolls for yourself or your smaller four-legged family members, live it up and add a little cheerful color to your medical care. PRACTICAL ADVICE: Don’t make the bone-headed mistake I initially did — if you’re bandaging a wound and have never used this type of tape (which is commonly called Coban or vet wrap), take 5 minutes to Google or YouTube how to use it. Do *not* put it directly on a wound; even though it shouldn’t stick to the wound, it is meant to be wrapped *over* non-stick gauze to hold dressing in place. (And please don’t use regular gauze wrap on a wound; the loose fibers will end up sticking to the healing wound and cause misery when changing the dressing.) The wrap holds the non-stick gauze firmly in place, sticks to itself without being overly sticky (which makes removal easy) and, with only a light press on the finished wrapped area, will not slip. The wrap is quite stretchy. I found it works best if you cut the approximate length you need, stretch it to about half of its maximum stretchability, then wind it neatly (don’t let it crease or bunch up) around the gauze and press lightly but firmly to fix it in place. As an added bonus, as long as the tape stays clean and dry, you can usually re-use the same piece of wrap once or twice, but after that, it doesn’t stick as well. I found this colored tape was better quality (thicker) and had slightly better grip than the cheaper brand I ordered. Also, it also ripped much more cleanly by hand. (The trick is to grip the roll of tape with one hand and use the other hand to rip it *away* from you, not toward you.) Of course, you could also use scissors, but ripping really is a lot easier. These colored rolls came in a plastic zip-close bag, and each roll was individually wrapped and sealed, so I expect it should stay clean and fresh even if stored for a long time. BOTTOM LINE: This type of wrap should be in every first-aid kit, and if you don’t need a ton of it (or just want to show off your bandaging skills with fun colors), I highly recommend this 6-roll set of colored wrap. ... show more

This stuff is so useful to have on hand. Stick well to itself, but does not stick to your skin or hair making it easy to remove. Don’t need to worry about any tape or safety pins to attach it. Love the multiple colors they give you some variety. Great for first aid but also for adding a little extra grip to tools, walkers, anything you need to wrap around to give a little extra to hang onto. You never know when you might need a self-adhesive bandage wrap, and these rolls are easy to cut and tear to whatever size necessary! The elasticized material is super lightweight, and it offers plenty of stretch and compression to keep gauze or cotton balls or layers of protective wrap in place. It’s great for human or animal use in clinical settings, and it doesn’t stick uncomfortably to skin or pet hair. I like the rainbow color variety that’s been included, and the full set seems to be affordably priced, so I’m happy with this product overall! This self-adhesive wrap holds as firmly as the wrap my vet uses when my dog is injured, and I like that it sticks to itself instead of my dog. I really like that it cost a fraction as the wrap sold at my vet. This wrap doesn't have any unpleasant smells like some of the generic brand vet wraps I've tried.
