  • Big bang for your buck!
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
I was a little hesitant to buy a CarPlay unit on Amazon- but this one had largely positive reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did. I initially bought the 12.3” but returned it and got the 10.25” screen, as I felt it looked the most natural in my F31. I watched a handful of videos on YouTube before I bought it, which walked through the install. Installation was pretty straightforward- I had it all setup in a few hours. A few things were buggy at first, but the PEMP online support was great at helping me dial in the setup. (They are in China so will only be online in the evening and at night) It’s been working almost flawlessly since day one and I have zero regrets. My local shop quoted me $1350 to have the bimmertech unit installed. This cost me $250. Huge win. Thanks PEMP Audio! ... show more

  • Great company
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
This item is excellent. For the price you can't beat it. It comes with the tool to pop off the molding in the car. Total there are 8 torque screws; I literally had this installed in 5 minutes and the dash put back together. I did have alot of back and forth with the company as the android auto wouldn't pop up. They replied back non stop late at night with help. The issue I ran into was my wifi. Even though it is connected to the OEM and Pemp Bluetooth it also connects to the Pemp wifi. My phone was already connected to the house wifi and it wasn't popping up automatically. I turned the car on while in a parking lot, and the wifi connected and everything started up the way it is supposed to. Since then everything automatically connects when car starts. Phone calls are good as well. Highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • 01/2026 Review for F30 BMW
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
1-2026; Wanted to hopefully provide some insight into the installation. Read all of this before proceeding to save yourself headache in the future. Replaced my 8.8 inch 2013 BMW F30 3.2.8I with the 10.25 inch PEMP Head Unit. Overall it was pretty simple, but I ran into a few issues and had to piece together like 5 videos to eventually get it fixed. Removing the trim pieces is easy as long as you have the necessary tools. My recommendation is do all the work in the passenger seat and once you get to the removing the CD drive swap to the drivers seat and you'll have better visibility. You'll need a T15 bit (it comes with one but having a drill set the chuk to low helped a lot). Place microfiber towels over the center console to avoid scratches. Make sure to remove the bottom panel and unclip the light so you have more room, and don't break the ambient light under the climate control. Remove the client control as well but keep it close to test. When you get to the wiring harness slow down. Removing the OEM inputs is easy, but makes sure you remove the optical cord (a flat head is needed to pry the optical cord out) and install it into the new harness to start, then mate the two harnesses together and it should plug right in. Make sure after you clip the new married harness to the CD drive check the optical cable. Mine set into the harness, but didn't connect to the CD drive, therefore I had to trouble shoot some issues, and determined this was the failure point and a gentle press fixed it. When you remove the old screen use a pair of needles nose pliers to press the clip from the pink cord that attaches to the screen, and save that cord you'll need it later. When adding the new screen run the cords through the dash and out (this will be the pink power cable, and the new wiring that's mated to the OEM harness). Plug in both the pink cord and new harness and set it in the mount but don't screw anything yet. Grab the climate control and plug it back in and turn the car on to test and make sure the OEM screen appears. If it doesn't check the optical cable, and the harness is mounted correctly. If those are check the head unit as the cord we attached earlier might be loose. If it connects and the resolution is off change this in setting - car setting - screen resolution (mine was 1240 x 1080 (I believe). Once that is fixed check the Idrive knob and if it's doesn't responds change the Idrive module on the head unit and it should work then. Once tested reassemble and should be all good to put back together. It was a couple hours since I had issues but if you are capable it should only be a few hours. It does have you mount an AUX cord but you can do bluetooth for sounds as well just connect the OEM system to your phone and set audio to bluetooth, and you shouldn't have an issue here. You can run AUX and it won't have a delay but I didn't want to run that as I didn't want to modify the center console with a hole for the 3.5MM cord. Also, didn't use the USB's as it would have created a hole that I didn't want. It's not required. ... show more

  • Apple CarPlay works pretty good.
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
I’ve had this system in my BMW 328d for several months now and exclusively use it for Apple CarPlay and Waze. I have had it crash a couple times and have some connectivity issues with my phone. Sometimes if I can’t get my phone to connect I’ll have to go into the unit settings and delete my Bluetooth connection to my phone and reconnect then it will work. Hands free phone calls work good with good audio. Overall, it integrates pretty nicely into the car and the stock system. I would purchase it again if I needed it. ... show more

  • DON'T BUY - VERY FRAGILE BUILD QUALITY
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
DON'T BUY - After installation, the product worked as advertised and I was very happy with it. 5 Weeks after installation, when entering a steep parking lot, my car bottomed out. There was a pretty solid bump, but nothing earth shattering. That bump dislodged something inside the head unit causing it to malfunction and render the entire iDrive system of the car inoperable. I had to put the OEM screen back in to get all of the car's systems working again. There is no mechanism on AMAZON to contact the manufacturer for a remedy. I suppose I will have to spring the mega bucks on a BIMMERTECH screen if I want CarPlay. UPDATE - Have exchanged emails with PEMP after finding their website. They are evasive and so far are implying that I am incompetent at connecting harnesses. I am not. They are very slow to respond to emails, limiting their correspondence to one email per day at 6pm pacific time. They seem to want the conversation to be cumbersome and slow. Perhaps hoping I give up? Update 2: They want me to ship the unit to China at my expense to verify it is faulty. You know the quality of a company not by how they act when things go right, but by how they respond to customers who experience problems. Update 3: after placing this review, PEMP contacted me and provided a US address to which I was told I could return the unit. They required me to pay shipping. The lowest rate available to a private individual from UPS was $31. I believe that companies like this have such policies as a discouragement to return defective products. Most certainly, their businesses have negotiated shipping rates that are a small fraction of what individuals have to pay. ... show more

  • Great upgrade for an older BMW
Size: 10.25" + Pry Tool
Easy to install and set up. Works just like the factory but with Appl Car play. If you are slightly mechanical, you can have this installed and working in 20 minutes.
