This coffee was so fresh, just roasted last week. It is rich yet smooth. I'm afraid I'm spoiled now with this coffee. Before I was not too picky. I researched the healthiest (least processed) coffee and Peets seemed the best. You may see oil on the top of your coffee but is actually a good thing. Peets "Big Bang" and also "Brazil" are the best coffees I've found, whether whole bean or ground, and I've tried many through the years. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I like a full bodied coffee that doesn't taste like flavored water when I add cream and doesn't leave an after taste. I know how fresh the Peets coffee is because the date processed and fresh to dates are printed on the package. Once opened I store in a tightly sealed container which is kept in a drawer away from sunlight. It is higher priced than many store bought coffees but the taste of other coffees doesn't measure up to the Peets brand. ... show more
