Tried this on a recommended coffee to me while searching. Whole bean offering has a wonderful aroma when you open the bag every morning. Grinds well, little static with conical grind as the natural coffee bean oils remained through their roasting and production process. However, this isn’t always a mark of freshness, stale coffee can develop a rancid, acidic flavor while retaining a beautiful oily sheen. This was not the case, and every cup was consistent and flavorful. The only downside I would give for this coffee was the bag. Initially, I held the beans in the bag and rolled it closed with a spring clip on top. After I ground roughly a little more than half the bag, I did notice flavor change in the coffee and the beginning of higher acidity in the flavor profile. With a bag this size, this is not uncommon, in the future I will keep the unground beans in an airtight container before use. ... show more

I love strong coffee, not the wash water that I first tasted when I arrived in the US. This coffee stands up to the Starbucks brand but is a lot more affordable. Occasionally I have a double shot of a heart stopper, but in the morning I brew a larger mug and use an electric frother to really get a dense foam. That is my morning treat to get me going. You get a lot of swiss water process decaf for the money. The decaf process is safe so you know you are not getting any toxins via solvents. Good cost to value ratio. Just brewed myself a first cup and it is slightly on bitter side. Not untolerable. Otherwise great coffee beans.

No brick and mortar store near me carried decad whole beans, so Amazon it was! The coffee beans have a great aroma and the coffee tastes pretty good. I'm no espresso connoisseur, but when using in conjunction with my Breville Bambino, the results are solid. You can likely get a higher quantity for normal caffeinated beans at a local store or Costco, but you wouldn't be reading this if you wanted the full caffeine intake. I've enjoyed SF Bay coffee for the Keurig for a long time now. I like the eco-friendly pods, all biodegradable made from natural materials, and at a fair price. My girlfriend prefers a fancy coffee maker by Miele which uses coffee beans instead of pods. I bought this coffee for her and we both enjoy it very much. The flavor is decent enough…..but since air and light affect the quality of coffee why is it in a clear bag that clearly exposes the coffee to light, and also it can’t be re-sealed? I removed it and put in a better container but one of my favorite coffees comes in a dark bag and when i seal it I can push all the air out and it stays that way until the next time I open it. I will probably buy this coffee again, I just wish the packaging was better. ... show more

My usual go-tos for ~monthly big coffee resupply are Wink, Kicking Horse, SF Bay, and Mayorga (I don't care much for them anymore). I'd been getting Kicking Horse pretty much 6 months straight because I heard it had more caffeine (dunno if thats true actually), and was pretty content with that. I decided this month to switch it up and come back to SF Bay and get the Dark Roast, and I am very happy I decided to do that. I just think these coffee beans are better and this tastes more like a great cup of coffee. Not hating on Kicking Horse but I had actually forgotten how delicious a cup of coffee could be until drinking this brew today. I'm excited to start exploring other good varieties again instead of just treating my cup of coffee like something I'm merely obligated to do to wake up. ... show more
