I LOVE coffee and am ALWAYS on board to try new brands, flavors, types and ways of having it! This boxed set of 4 types of coffees from different places is not only a "taste test" but also has informative and interesting learning opportunities. Included in the sampler set, there are 4 postcards detailing information about the farms the coffees come from and describing the coffees themselves, including the flavor profiles of each, and the roasting level of each one from light to bold. I found that after each bag of beans is ground, there's enough for 1-2 pots of coffee of 10-12 cups each. I've tasted two so far and found them to be very flavorful without any bitterness at all. Even the light/mild roast had a bold, full flavor. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was the price. Being a little more than I usually spend for "every day coffee", it was definitely a special treat. The uniqueness of this sample set would make a great gift for a coffee-loving friend.

This coffee is packaged as a lovely little set that would make a great gift for the coffee lovers in our lives. The coffee itself is whole bean so one will need a grinder. Coffee is fresh and smells and tastes delightful, it is fun to try so many different types!

So far I've tried one of the light roasts and the medium roast from this set. I ordered the whole bean set as I have a burr grinder but I do have to go through the beans completely before switching roasts so if you're looking to try all of then and have fun comparing, preground might be easier depending on your setup / consumption speed. The set comes in a nice presentable box. Each roast is in a 4oz package with nice graphics / presentation. There are two cards for each roast that give info, suggestions on how best to brew and other info. For the light roast I tried pour over, drip and concentrated/long steep drip. Low to no bitterness, flavors were mostly bright without a lot of complexity until I did the concentrated brew. It did taste more complex when the coffee cooled, probably best as a cold brewing. The medium roast I just used in a drip coffee maker. It's clean, no bitterness and again not a ton of flavor fresh brewed. So far the set has been good but it hasn't been amazing for my palate. I do like that there's little to no bitterness but I wouldn't mind more intensity in the flavors. I can't fault the coffee, it's good. The value might be difficult for some to swallow though as it was north of 30 for a lb when I ordered it. I'd be more likely to pick up a local roast for half the price but for a coffee enthusiast it might be a nice gift for a special occasion.

This is an amazing coffee set and would make a lovely gift! There are four kinds of beans, and each comes with information about its origin, tasting notes, brewing instructions, and more. This is the kind of love and attention that a good coffee deserves! I prefer a medium roast so the Guatemala is probably my favorite, but they really are all quite good. They taste fresh and come in a small batch so as to remain that way if stored properly.

Perfect for the aspiring coffee aficionado or even yourself True to the taste, education for the drinker, and support of the smaller farmer this is quality socially conscious coffee in its best presentation with flavor. Each of the four samples includes a postcard specific to the coffee methodology and the growing region. For those who want to understand coffee and why it is important when you make your coffee palate choices, this adds great value to the experience. The care taken during production and roasting ensures you get a good clean flavor without bitterness or acidity in my tasting. They note these are all air-roasted. I believe these are best tasted black for taste testing using one of the noted brewing methods for each specific coffee. If you're learning to distinguish coffees and the differences between regions and beans make a difference this education is truly worth the higher price. Perhaps they can have larger kits or different sets to try. Over time as you develop your palette you'll be better able to make educated choices even when tasting competing roasters of the same region/bean type. This sample should help you appreciate not only the differences but the reasons for them. Highly recommended as either an educational gift or even a gift to yourself as you want to learn to distinguish the differences and have a high-quality standard.

I was surprised that I really enjoyed this sample set. I'm not really into light roast and two of the packs were light roast so I left them for a while. I finally got a chance to try them and they were delicious! I'm not huge on tasting notes but it wasn't just watered down or bitter coffee, it tasted refined. I tend to drink my coffee with milk but with these roasts I found it was easy to drink black. I love the postcards and it's something you can send as a gift to a coffee lover or even individually share if you'd like. The box and presentation of everything here is fantastic. I am waiting to try the medium an dark roasts which I normally prefer. So far, very good!
