I’ve prepared this Scandinavian blend so far using my two main brew methods: moka pot and French press. It’s a tasty, full-bodied dark roast with smokey notes, though not nearly as smokey as a French roast. The beans are matte, not oily. I’ve brewed through half the bag already, and I’m still getting to know this blend. So far, I quite like it. Being a darker roast, I’ve been careful to grind even coarser than I would for lighter roasts in my French press, using a Timemore C2 hand grinder. Set on 26 clicks. Also, I let my electric kettle cool for a minute or two after boiling before I add the water to the grounds in the carafe. Boiling water is no bueno for darker roasts in a French press. I grind the beans a bit more coarsely for the moka pot as well. So far so good with this Scandinavian blend in both of my preferred brew methods. I’m enjoying it enough that I’ve also purchased the SF Bay French Roast and look forward to trying it. This brand sells a high value product. Decent quality for a good price. The expiration dates on both bags I’ve received are well into the future. Is this freshly roasted, small batch coffee? Absolutely not. I’m okay with this for the amount, price, and convenience. My goal here is to save money while getting a good enough coffee. This brand fits the bill. ... show more

I’ve been using Lavazza for a while now and it’s becoming bitter and the dates are way too close for comfort. Doesn’t taste good at all! Not sure what they’re doing. But after watching the videos as to how San Francisco Bay Coffee Co makes and roasts their coffee beans I had to try it. Very glad I did! The taste is amazing and it goes to a good cause. Been buying this brand for many years. It both consistent and cost-effective. Their beans are roasted well always fresh and well packaged. The flavour is consistently good and holds well in a warming mode.

i’ve liked this brand ever since i tried their importable k cups from costco, i care a lot about the environment so i wanted to support them. this coffee is great, it’s not too bold and the medium roast provides a perfect about of caffeine in my work day. i grind the beans coarse for my french press and then same the ground for my plants! my only wish is that i would love if the packaging was not plastic. that being said, the beans smelled great and were very fresh! great value, it has lasted me over 3 weeks and i drink a ton of coffee. A friend turned me onto San Francisco Bay coffee and I love it! I've tried multiple roasts and I'm very pleased with all of them so far. I keep an eye out for when they have them on sale, occasionally I could get 2 pounds for 12 or 13 bucks. I wouldn't subscribe to automatic shipments though, as it seems the price fluctuates greatly. ... show more
