  • Great Catio! Great Catio!
I am very pleased with this catio so far and my cat absolutely loves it! I waffled back and forth for over a year on getting one of these. With so many options and the price tag, it was hard to commit. We needed a taller catio to get closer to the top of our outward-opening windows and an open back, so this one fit the bill! I also wanted plenty of room for my cat to enjoy the room but had to fit in on our covered porch. Assembly: It took me about 6 hours to assemble - I was able to put together the outside by myself but did end up recruiting help putting the shelves on as it was easier for one person to be outside and one inside to screw the bolts in. You could put it together alone but it is MUCH easier with at least one other person. If you don't have help, some other reviewers had some great tips on solo assembly. I also used a power drill - you will be drilling into the wood, which is soft enough to not struggle too much without pilot holes (there are dots for guides) but strong enough that a normal screwdriver will be tedious. The screws and hardware included were good enough quality to use without stripping or breaking. Stability/Mounting: Until you mount the enclosure at the bottom and sides to a base and the wall, it will be unstable. However, after mounting, the stability is great and I had no reservations letting my cat out in it! We had to raise the catio higher to fit our windows, so we built a base of stone and wood at the bottom, which worked out great as I did not want to drill into our stone porch. If you have wood siding or porch, mounting should not be too much of an issue. If you have concrete for either, you will need additional tools and anchors/hardware to mount it. My walls are concrete so we built a wooden frame to mount it to the wall. Safety: It feels very safe, there are no gaps that my cat or predators can squeeze through and it does not sway or buckle when my cat jumps on the shelves or scratches on the posts. Appearance/Size: It looks great - we even had guests and neighbors praise how good it looks! The large size fits well for my cat and his needs, and gives me enough room to fit inside to clean or retrieve my cat when stubborn on getting inside. The door is a bit short and narrow, so you will need to bend down/hunch to get inside. I'm short so it's not so bad for me but for taller people it may be a bit uncomfortable. Overall: I'm very happy with the quality of the catio itself, how easy it was to assemble, and the end result. My cat has been in it every day since! Worth every penny! ... show more

  • Does its job! 1/4 cats in the house love it Does its job! 1/4 cats in the house love it
Color: Orange
For the $, it was worth it to me. I looked at sourcing all the materials and building from scratch. I could have theoretically built a sturdier catio, but it would have been substantially more expensive, less visually appealing, and taken about 100x as long to assemble (as I don’t have much building experience). Yes, this is light, flimsy wood, but my 8lb-9lb cats are not going to stress it enough to cause structural issues. Once it’s assembled and attached to the house and floor, it’s stable enough for its purpose. - I don’t have a porch, so we put down cinder blocks and plywood to keep it off the ground. - If you’re putting it in front of a window, and the window isn’t fully enclosed within the catio, you might have to get a little creative working around the window when attaching the top to the outer wall. :) - The screws for the plastic roof were not enough to hold the roof all the way on during a really heavy wind storm we had shortly after assembling the catio. I about doubled the number and used slightly longer screws than those provided to make sure it doesn’t rip off again in a bad wind. - I imagine its possible to assemble this solo, but I’m glad I had my partner to share the assembly journey with - Pay close attention to the diagrams - all the details are there, but it’s not spelled out for you (e.g. we attached some panels upside down because we assumed the numbers would all be right side up, instead of looking for the dots on the diagram indicating orientation by the predrilled holes) - one of my cats loves it! Hahahaha ... show more

  • Beautiful and my cats love it Beautiful and my cats love it
Color: White
Overall I absolutely love this catio. I only gave it 4 stars because it was not able to be set up without additional wood, and that was not made clear to me before I started the process. We ended up securing a 2x6 piece of wood to the house, at the roof level of the catio, across the back. The roof pieces have to rest against something at the back or they will flop in. I also ended up raising it up on concrete blocks, as you can see in the photo. Cats can fit out of the concrete block holes, so we covered the holes with construction screen mesh. They love the extra viewing holes across the bottom, and I love the extra height. The added 8” also makes it much easier to get in and out of the door, which is incredibly low. I’ve had this up for 5 months now and my cats utterly love it. They use it heavily, and it has held up well, and Is very secure. I have never worried about my cats being able to get out, or any predators being able to get in. Assembly took me a few hours. The instructions were clear, I’m just slow I suppose. lol. But it came out beautiful. I’ve been very impressed and I would easily recommend this. ... show more

  • Cat Approved Catio
Color: White
This catio has made our 8 cats very happy. Assembly was pretty easy, the only part that was difficult was getting it secured where we wanted it against the house, but that was no fault of the product. We have received plenty of compliments on it from friends and family, it is not bulky or an eyesore. 1 of the pieces, ironically the very last piece removed from the last box, (it comes in 3 different boxes) was cracked. I reached out to the company and had no issues getting the piece replaced after providing picture proof. If you have been looking at this catio but feeling hesitant, I say just go for it. Your cats will thank you! ... show more

  • Exactly what I was looking for! Exactly what I was looking for!
Color: Orange
I have 4 cats that used to go outside, but unfortunately with some incidents with stray cats and a busy road, can no longer be let out and this catio is exactly what I needed to keep them happy! We elevated it to keep predators at bay so we added a few modifications to accommodate this feature but overall the catio was perfect on its own. It took 3 handy guys about 4 hours to install, including the footings and floor since we elevated it, but it was very easy to assemble and the cats were enjoying it by the afternoon. It's a little wobbly as is, but only takes a few more reinforcements to make it a bit more sturdy for my thiccc boys. I'll be adding some pet screen to keep bugs out and some outdoor carpet to make it a little more comfy on the added floor and resting ledges this week. They're obsessed with their new space & I would definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Not worth the money!
Color: Grey
Quality does not reflect the price, it’s a very cheap wood and has no bottom or back.

  • Beautifully made!
I never write reviews, but was inspired to write this one by the high quality of the product. The catio is very attractive, an ideal size, and my 2 cats absolutely love it. It was packaged very well and everything came in 100% intact. When I opened the box, I noticed a strong smell but quickly realized it was the pleasant smell of cedar not chemicals. The metal screens are expertly cut and tacked down -- I didn't notice a single sharp edge that would snag a cat or human. The full catio took quite a while to assemble, but the instructions were very good, all the screw holes were perfectly aligned, nothing was missing, and they even provided some extra screws, etc. My husband did most of the assembly on his own, and only needed my help for some of the final stages. We've had it about a month now, and it seems fine out in our rainy weather. The only mild criticism I can offer is that the hanging bridges are not something that I think any cat would use. Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied. It looks surprisingly nice and my cats go outside the minute I open their window access in the morning. They like the various platforms, but also spend a fair bit of time on ground level. (We put ours on top of cedar wood chips, not a hard surface.) ... show more

  • I love this catio! I love this catio!
Color: Grey
This is a perfect catio for me and my 2 cats! I just finished building it today and they are both already using it. Also, I was able to put it together by myself. I am a 5ft tall woman and my only prior building experience is assembling a couch and futon from Wayfair. It took me 7-8 hours to assemble. I had already built a paving stone foundation for it to sit on outside. You will need a power drill to assemble this, but the wood is soft enough that you can drill the screws straight into it with no pilot holes. The screws are nice, I didn't strip or break any of them. If the side of your house is brick or some other solid material, you will need a way to drill holes in it for anchors. My siding is wood, so I could screw directly in it. I recommend putting the roof on one panel at a time so you can reach the back. If you are assembling this by yourself, when you are installing the shelves and cat boxes, you can tape the bolts in place with electrical tape from the outside. That way you can slide the shelf onto the bolts without knocking them out of the wood. After anchoring everything, the structure seems sturdy. Yes, the wood is lightweight, but it doesn't seem like it will go anywhere. My heavier cat (12 lbs) has climbed all over it and it didn't even shake. The size is great for my cats to chase bugs. Overall, I love it! I will try to remember to update when it rains or after a year or so. ... show more
