With the help of thirteen canine family members over the years, we have worn through dozens of leashes and collars. Since our small dogs now usually wear harnesses instead of collars, I purchased this set mainly for the leash, thinking of the collar as a matching bonus. I ordered red, but got silver. I am not disappointed as the silver is lovely. This leash and collar set seems “good.” I am picky about leashes because so many are cheaply made, fray, and go limp. My standard is a sturdy, thick, flexible single length of nylon ribbed strapping on a small, strong swivel clasp. This leash comes close. The swivel clasp is of good quality. The leash body has one side that seems to be a slick nylon strapping interwoven with reflective, decorative threads. The reverse side is made of padded nylon webbing. The stitching that holds the two sides together is close and tight. Because of the padding, the leash is comfortable to hold, easy to grasp. This same combination of fabrics is used on the collar. For a larger dog, medium and up, I think that this would be especially comfortable. In the smaller size the extra layer of padding makes the collar bulky on our six pound poodle and ten pound chihuahua. The collar is advertised as having a “whiteboard” segment where an owner can add pet information. This is actually a plastic, semi-transparent clasp with a space for a tiny note inside…or that is what it seems to me. It is a great idea, but this claps, like the padding, makes the small size collar that much bulkier, an item my dogs probably won’t wear. And, this clasp seems a bit tacky, not up to the quality of the remainder of the item. Overall, I like this leash and collar combo and imagine from the fabric it is made of and the close, careful stitching that they will withstand numerous launderings. I am not sure that the nylon mesh backing won’t snag should we want to take a walk in the forest, but we don’t do that often. I think that the collar would work better for larger dogs than ours and that, in fact, it might be more comfortable for a larger dog than most collars.

I actually really loved the quality, color, and everything originally. I cannot figure out how to use the white blank tag option to put his information there.. But I didn't try too deeply. Anyhow, After about a week of our Pug wearing the collar, I noticed, after taking the collar off and rubbing his neck (below his chin) that he was missing hair in a few spots, and the area looked red and irritated. I wasn't sure if it was like that before though. So I figured it could've been from his old collar. But yesterday, after taking the collar off and checking if it healed, the entire underside of his neck was missing hair, and his poor skin was all pink and irritated. After paying closer attention, I saw that the collar has a (seemingly useless black band with a seam that's extremely rough, (I'll need to add a few pictures in an update soon) which I tried pulling off, but it seems like it's supposed to stay on, so I flipped the seam facing outward for now, at least to not rub against his skin. Poor guy was probably so uncomfortable, sheesh 😔

What happens when you take the cheapest way to make and sell a dog collar , tada . . I didn't use this one more than two days the, amount of energy time and Detail they put into this collar was enough to look like it had some potential to actually be around Dog’s neck with a leash on . To my disappointment, I had no idea the collar was made out of a bazooka Joe comic. If your Collar is the only thing between your dog and getting hit by a car then your collar should be as sturdy as The dog wearing it., my dog has all four legs and the ability to move which this collar was not designed for. It's perfect. If you have a two legged dog, that’s depressed and Just likes to look out the window and remember what it used to be like to go for a walk. This would also be perfect for a geriatric cat , as long as it doesn’t pull

The purple color is beautiful. It's muted enough to use for either boy or girl dogs. The material is very sturdy and well made. The leash's clip is very sturdy and I trust it with my 90 lbs dog if he pulls. Overall, this is a good collar and leash set and I'd definitely order it again.
