    • Great for the price but not a secure coop or run

For what it is, I found this cage to be very well designed for the price. Easy to put together, the multiple doors are so helpful, and lightweight to move it around the yard. The rain/sun cover fit well and was easy to install too. I used it as a daytime quarantine pen and will use it as a chicken tractor going forward. It gave me peace of mind with hawks circling, gave the chickens plenty of room to move around during the day, and was easy to move to a new section of yard when they ate all the grass in one space. I definitely would not trust this cage to keep my chickens safe at night though. They went into a small dog crate in the garage at bedtime until they were ready to go into the regular coop and run. This will not protect from raccoons, rats, weasels, or coyotes. The spaces between the wires are too big and the bottom is totally open, leaving animals inside totally vulnerable at night. (Also, the stabilizing bars will not work as roosts for chickens, you need something with a much bigger diameter. ) In general, I am happy with this purchase for the uses I have for it, but would warn anyone new to chickens to not rely on it as a permanent ourdoor enclosure or you will almost certainly lose your animals to predators ... show more

Using as addition to their 10x10 cage. Enough room for a roosting log and area to walk back and forth. Little birds can get in through the bars. Haven't seen any squirrels in there yet. Pretty easy to put together.

I ordered this for our chickens and it works really well. It's a good size and has 3 access doors which made it easy to attach to their coop. We used it for over a year, and now that we moved them to a larger coop we use the run for our cat. He loves to have his outside time in the yard!

I bought three chickens and needed something to put them in until I could build a bigger pen. This worked out great. I was able to put little toys in there for them and hang it easily. However, the wind in central Texas is horrible and just about destroyed this thing, but it did what I needed it to do, it works great and I’m able to move it easily with no problems.     • INSTRUCTIONS ARE HORRID! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

UPDATE: Only after 4 months it is rusting horridly, it went from 3 stars to 1. It should have lasted longer outside considering it only four months old. I’ve built a lot of things and so has my son. He decided to come over to my house and put this together for me. Holy Lord, he’s 31 and pretty much came in laughing and showed me the lack of instructions. PawGiant needs to contact LEGO’s if they want to just give picture instructions, picture instructions that weren’t even complete. I guess PawGiant believes that people don’t read instructions anyways. Next is the pretty flimsy wire and minimal wire clamps used on pre fab sections. Then parts came bent, not horridly but for $200.00 I kind of expect more. Stability is an MAJOR issue and he added more wire clamps using hog nose pliers. For what I bought it for, a day playpen for baby birds, it’s okay with supervision, as it’s not predator proof yet. In an urban area without predators this would work fine. I plan to add hardwire cloth around it and under it later. As a predator like weasels would have an easy chicken stack if birds weren’t supervised. ... show more
