Looked at a lot of options, and this was the best size for the price we could find. Putting it together is no small feat, the instructions are clear but you have to read them carefully. MUCH easier as a two person job, this would be very hard to do with one person and probably take most of the day. Knocked it out with a helper in maybe 2 hours. I threw out the anchors and put in some tapcon screws (just one in each leg) to anchor it to the patio concrete. We had to leave town for a week and leave it on it's own and there was a massive desert monsoon when we got back. The top was full of water and it pooled up between the ceiling bars, but no visible deformation of the metal. We pushed the water off with a broom once it was over and it looked good as new. Very glad it survived, our last cheap pergola would have been in a different zip code. Also the adjustment is super easy and very nice to have, so we can keep a view of the yard and keep the sun off us any time of day, as long as you install it east-west.

It's soooo friggin cute! We love that we can still slide the top open to use the fire pit and it is good and heavy so I just put some extra weights on the poles and it has made it through a couple of gnarly Texas storms (including hail) Now for the reason I only gave 4 stars. *The 4 main poles that hold it up are one piece, which for structure is a good thing, But it makes it really hard to put it up, take it down. Or even move it. (We are active military) We really needed 4 ppl to do this but we only had 2. The instructions are handy but in a few places it could use the order of how to do things instead of an expanded pic. We had to take it back apart in a few places because of this. *Would have loved for some little loops or something to make it easier to hang things on the corners without it sliding off. * I really wish I could have been able to purchase extra curtain loops. I put curtains on it for extra sun protection and I could not for the life of me find any that would fit so it ended up with black zip ties. * and last... I don't like the drain holes in the cloth. I know it's spitting hairs, but if they weren't there my patio would mostly stay dry. We got it on a great deal, though and it will get lots and lots of use.

We recently renovated our backyard with green turf, rocks/stones, pavers and concrete. No more weeds! With all the work done, the cost went over budget and we couldn’t splurge on constructing a wooden pergola. After some research, I decided to get this. I was initially worried about the packaging and delivery after reading some reviews but Amazon was great. The package came in a big truck with 2 person. I got them to carry it into the garage. Installation took me about half a day. I had a friend come by to help. And I was lucky to have two of those platform ladders. It made installation much easier without needing to keep climbing up and down a ladder. I intend to wrap the metal post with wood planks and also build a privacy screen with horizontal planks on one side. My fence is a tad low and I want more privacy from my neighbors. For the roof, I intend to get the clear PVC roof panels and have those bolted down to the top. That way, I can still enjoy the sun but also have a year round protection for my outdoor furniture. This is a great pergola to add additional personal customization to it.

I was so happy with the sturdy structure of this pergola. After only a week installed, we had some 20 mph winds and the canopy shade didn’t do well. We came up with a solution to keep the canopy from flapping in the wind but then the side pole broke so now it is unusable. I’m trying to figure out how to reach the company to maybe get a replacement part. Disappointed that Amazon makes it hard to contact the seller.

The setup was easy when the directions are being followed. The good: This purchase was made because in the summer the death rays make it impossible to sit in the backyard to enjoy the lake view. The pergola is sturdy considering it isn’t very heavy and isn’t made of the best material. The bad: The canopy tore and the replacement is 85.00. Now considering the pergola did not make it through a whole year without a part malfunctioning is very concerning. For the amount of money spent on this pergola you’d think it would last longer than it did. I am very disappointed and think that my money would’ve been spent better if I put it towards a better quality pergola. Skip this as a buy.

I was excited about the pergola, but when I went to put it together, a couple of the poles had minor dents in it from shipping. I contacted customer service and they were very responsive and we worked together to come up with a solution. The pergola is exactly what I thought it would be. Good quality and looks great. Even with the minor damage I was able to erect it fine.

It’s a great product once it’s up, but I had some problems and God I’m mechanically inclined and used to build Air Force jets one of the main beams had two holes missing for the bottom bracket. I had the drill. Second of all instructions are really really suck pictures kind of throw you off.
