Love this pergola! It was just what my husband and I were needing for our back deck. It was fairly simple to put together, but definitely does require 2-3 people to make things easier. The retractable canopy is perfect, as it allows us to choose how much sun we want on the deck. The pergola structure is great and sturdy. However the canopy gets dirty quickly. Just after 6 months it looks terrible. We are living in sunny South Carolina without lots of rain and dirty air. But this is definitely not ok. You do not want to invite your guests sitting below. No way to clean it. If you buy it, take everything but a light color. ... show more

    • "Convertible roof canopy" is not waterproof. VERY disappointed.

I'm VERY disappointed. Had I known beforehand I would not have purchased this. The "Convertible roof canopy" is not a waterproof piece of material. There's a million holes in it like a mesh so even when it drizzles you get WET underneath it. Had they mentioned that in the description I would have bought something else. It's too late to return it because I already have it assembled & I'm not taking it down. I didn't notice until I had the "Convertible roof canopy" almost all the way up. I guess the cryptic quote in the description "Perfect for star gazing in the evening too" means the canopy has holes & you're going to get wet if it rains. Who knew?.... Very disappointed, $1500 for a pergola that offers ZERO shelter from the rain or even a drizzle. "Perfect for star gazing"? How stupid....if I want to see the stars, I'll open the canopy!
