As an Amazon Vine reviewed product I received the VidaTeco 14-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder for testing for the purposes of providing an honest review. I've used it short term, and it's working well so far. The shredder can handle a maximum of 14 sheets at once, all documents were thoroughly destroyed in my use cases. It also shreds credit cards, CDs, and even junk mail without any hitches. I even tried shredding cardboard, and it managed to handle it reasonably well. The convenient 3-mode control switches (Auto, Off, Reverse) make the operation of this shredder simple and intuitive. The Auto start/stop and manual reverse functions came in handy, especially when I needed to clear minor paper jams. The 5 minutes shredding time coupled with a 30 minutes cooling cycle seemed adequate for my needs, and the overheat LED indicator was a thoughtful addition, ensuring safety during extended use. The 6.6-gallon basket capacity is easy to empty thanks to a transparent window that helps to see when it's full and a portable handle that makes the emptying process a breeze. UPDATE! 9/27/22 Nivia from customer service reached out to me via email to apologize for the defective shredder and my disappointment with the product. They wanted to make things right and so offered to send me a free replacement to try out there product once more. I am very satisfied with their proactive customer service approach. I received the replacement shredder at no cost in addition to them issuing me a refund for the defective one. I have used the shredder now intermittently for about a month now and it seems to be holding up well. I gave this product 4 stars because of the excellent customer service I received. I will provide feedback on the shredder in four months if it is still operational. I would recommend this shredder. I've shredded at least 8 pages at a time to test it and it shreds fast and handles well. Paper does not get stuck; there is a reverse on it and the option to shred credit cards also. OLD POST: Stopped working after 4 months of intermittent use. I haven't even filled the 3 gallon trash bin with shreds and the darn thing is dead! I cannot return this because the window closed 1 month after purchase!

Very pleased with the design and function. You have to give paper a little bit of a push to get it started and then it shreds quickly and shuts off. Window in front let's you know when to empty it.

This is our 2nd shredder. The last one lasted 10 yrs. This one is a bit of a disappointment, it struggles with more than 4-5 pieces of paper. has a lot of difficulty with credit cards. numerous times you have to use the reverse feature and you can smell it’s getting warm. I’m afraid this one won’t last very long. Up date 5/19. I was contacted by customer service about my review. They said that it was unacceptable that the shredder did not meet my expectations. They exchanged it for a different model that’s is beast. Could not happier. Great customer service.

The media could not be loaded. Original Review: Product does not keep paper sheets straight as they feed through shredding mechanism. As a result, sheets "bunch up" as they go through and, despite 14-sheet claimed capacity, a handful of sheets will cause mechanism to jam. Instruction manual has nothing more to say than "reverse, then try again." But the cross-cut shredding mechanism makes it difficult if not impossible to extricate. After less than two months of use, today it jammed up and I could not extricate paper. Eventually, there was an explosion (my ears are still ringing a bit as I write this) and a small fire (fire alarm went off). I tried to return product but there does not seem to be a way of returning. Amazon will not take it back and VidaTeco seems to be long gone (see screenshot of website). Update to Review: Company saw my review, reached out and offered to send replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement does not work any better. After one day of light use, the shredder jammed and the paper simply cannot be removed. See video. I have not yet emptied the bin so the shredded paper in the bin is the entirety of the paper that this machine has shredded. Although it has a 14-page rating, I never tried shredded anything close to that.

More than the suggested amount of paper. Magazine? Yep. Junk mail? 👍 Etc. I spent the first day shredding for 4 hours. I got trigger happy on that, I was sticking paper after envelope after magazine consecutively not giving it room to finish the shredding of what I just stuck in there, and only then did it cause the red "OVERHEAT" light to come on. Waited the 30 minutes and it was fine. Then I slowed down with the shredding over all. Good shredder. ☺️
