It does as it says for 6 pages by inisually just feed one at a time to make sure material shredded well. It’s not quiet by hey it’s a shredder. Didn’t buy it for low decibels. It is a great size. Not too big or small. We usually put off to side and out of the way until needed. Shred once weekly. No safety issues. It’s a shredder so you have to use your brains and not put anything it that you shouldn’t. It stops when full or when lid lifted. Happy with the purchase! I always ask myself, was it worth it and had it added value and this unit has.
