Have had the Android only version for years and never had a problem with it. Gave it away to a friend who's still using it when I switched to an iPhone last year. Couldn't get this thing to connect to my iPhone 14 at all. May work on older models though, there's a number of Bluetooth devices that my 14 just won't connect to so I can't say for sure it's a problem with this product. ... show more

I bought this to diagnose some issues with my 2010 F150 but have also used it on my 2007 300C as well. I think it's more about the software you pair with it and the In Car Doc Pro software seems to work pretty good. It gives you a ton of information you can use to further analyze problems and you get more if you pay for the software which I did. I keep it plugged into my F150 all the time now so I can turn off the check engine light I get from an O2 sensor. I think there is a way to suppress it all together but I have not figured it out yet. I know there are more expensive and "better" OBD2 you can purchase, but this one does more than enough for me and probably will for most people who need some basic diagnostics data. Gets you in the right direction at the very least. It also will store historical information which is why I keep it plugged. I admit through it can be a bit overwhelming when you first use it. Takes a while to figure out the screens and find the relevant information. It works with many apps and you can usually try them for free too. This is the second of these that I've bought. It seems someone walked off with my first one. So it gives me a chance of saying if I just got lucky with the first. They both worked perfectly. I like these cheap Bluetooth OBDII readers a lot. I mostly use them with Torque Pro. They're quick for scanning codes. Faster and easier than the dedicated car diagnostic tablets that I use. I use the Torque Pro dashboard (realtime information). I have one dash set up with all the standard gauges. I can hop in most any car, and have all the gauges visible that are no longer installed in modern cars. The gauges are always very responsive, which is a sign that the OBDII reader works well. I have had some in the past that were slow and laggy. You don't *have* to pay for Torque Pro to use it. They have a free version (Torque Lite), which should work fine for you too.     • 2nd One And Still Going Strong On The Cheap Using Car Scanner or Hybrid Assistant In A Prius

This is my second Panlong I've purchased and to this day I am amazed the little thing works for the ~$15 price point. I do have issues at time connecting. Seems when I either turn the vehicle off and have the Hybrid Assistant open on my Android device that's 4.0 or newer bluetooth (Samsung J3 Luno Pro or LG G4), will always connect. Sometimes when the car is already on I do have connection issues and not sure if the software doesn't like that or what since the phone pairs with the device, though isn't able to connect at times. I've unplugged and plugged back in the adapter and that sometimes works. Seems what I power down the car and have the app open, works all the time. My S8+ has issues connecting though, so not really sure what the software issue is or maybe having two vehicles paired might be corrupting something. Hard to complain for the price to have another HUD and save a smart phone from the recyclers. ... show more

Down load via Google Play the TORQUE app. Lite (Free) or Pro ($). Plug into the OBD receptor usually under the dash near the steering column. You will see the OBD Led flash a few times. Turn on the vehicle. On your android cell phone turn on Blue Tooth and do a search for blue tooth device. Pair with the device listed as OBDII. The access code should be 1-2-3-4. Now turn on the Torque app. I had to reset the Torque app to factory settings before it worked but I am not sure if the app or the device was resetting. Bought this device in 2015 and its still working fine. I have tried other OBDII apps with this device and they worked but not as well as the Torque app... ... show more
