The hard drive is removable and enclosed within an aluminum frame case with foam cladding. This protects the hard drive from any sort of shock. Even dropping this laptop from a great height does not cause any destruction. Every hinge, connector and seal offers extensive durability due to its design and enclosures. The front side has a carrying handle and a sliding power switch. The back side has a plastic flap enclosing a serial port with a latched door housing many ports. This is a pretty cool machine. Although I was told it would come with CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY WINDOWS 7 AND WINDOWS 7 PRODUCT KEYS INCLUDED, they were not. I wanted to do a clean install and wanted the key. It's been so long since I got it I can't remember but for some reason the key I extracted did not work, so I bought a Windows 7 Pro key and installed windows 7 Pro. It was a little more beat up then I thought it would be. But was a good and fun project. Lots of sand in it. Took it apart and cleaned it all out. Replaced the battery which still doesn't last that long, replaced a port cover, replaced the keyboard, replaced some screws that were corroded. The A/C adapter is lose to the cord that plugs in to the wall outlet, falls out easily. Everything is pretty much removable and easy excess. The screen is not that bright and needs to be calibrated for touch screen but can't find drivers or program for it. It does work great though and pretty fast really. Everything on it works. Overall I really like this laptop; it looks freaking cool and feels like a tank. I gave it 4 stars only because: A) it looks very used, beat up and has a weird stretch to it B) the screen feels somewhat rough to the touch; with it being the touch screen model it kind of takes away from the response so I haven't really used it (I upgraded it to the touch screen refurb model) C) the touch pad is dented and pretty much unusable, but I use a mouse anyway Given those things I still give it 4 stars, because it's performing great otherwise. I got it specifically to use with a video editing program that required ample drive space, and it's been running perfect. I haven't dropped it yet but I have no fear! I've also not used it in extreme weather conditions, but again am not worried. ... show more

Received promptly, in decent condition. Was supposed to have 4 gigs of Ram. Had 3 gigs but the 2 gig module was defective. Its going to be a lesson in patience due to how slow it is.

This seems to be a good computer. There was a fresh OEM win 7 install. Everything I have tried works. These are used and have a few scars, but they work well. Bright display. Battery is probably 50%, but works for several hours as is. Wifi picked up node two metal buildings away.

unit is very good. It has been used and looks that way on the outside (one door is missing, and the vibration rubber that keeps the screen from rattling is missing) - screen HAS been replaced along with key board and touch pad. Unit operates very well. I did miss read the original advertisement as IT DOES NOT COME WITH A CD DRIVE. I was however able to purchase one for this computer cheaply on ebay and it plugged right in and self programmed. Very happy with the operation. ... show more

i have contacted the seller about this it was not what it was supposed to be, it was supposed to had a dvd/cd player only had disk drive. the computer works great except the driver is missing
