  • good product!
Size: RP5-GM11
Installed in 2003 chevy avalanche along with a pioneer avh-4200nex. Love it. The door chime sound is not as good as the factory, but for me it is acceptable considering all the features this thing provides. I'm reusing my steering wheel controls, and rear seat entertainment controls work too. Its done everything for me that it has claimed. The instructions were good. I do notice that the unit remains warm (not hot) even when the truck is off. I don't think it is drawing that much power though. I've had my truck sit idle for over a week and it was fine. 2 improvements would be: 1) smaller size of box 2) better chime (or even a customizable chime better yet) Also I have the bose amplifier in my truck-- it works well, just don't hook it to the non-amplified port by mistake (I did this at first and had to fix it) It makes for some really loud output with background hissing, but it didn't hurt anything--I made the correction and it was fine. Maybe they could do a better job explaining "amplified" vs "non-amplified" out port. I would assume that since I have an amplifier, I would want the signal "non-amplified", and their terminology seems backwards to me... ... show more

  • The only adapter worth buying for this application!
Size: RP5-GM11
I have used adapters similar to this in the past, but this one was much easier to work with. It was installed (I have a professional installer background as well) in an '04 Silverado with no major hiccups. I like that the chime is adjustable, the connectors felt to be quality, and the steering wheel control function works very well. The chime takes a little bit of getting used to, but the volume can be adjusted unlike the factory one. This adapter can be intimidating, but the instructions are pretty well written. It definitely helps to have prior knowledge, so professional help might not be a bad idea or at least consult YouTube. Also, because the unit is bulky, it might be worth pulling the radio to be replaced and see how much space is back there before ordering. My truck had enough space to hide and the wires were long enough to permit it being pushed into a cavity behind the gauge cluster, but it can be a tight fit. ... show more

  • Worked great!
Size: RP5-GM11
I used this to install a Joying double-din Android head unit into my 2004 Chevy Suburban. It took me a little bit of trial and error to connect with the stereo properly, but it just plugged right into my car's system and the OnStar, Steering wheel controls and rear-fader worked without cutting into the existing wires. If you pop out the dashboard, you can reach in and assist the wires out of the way of the stereo. ... show more

  • Solid product.
Size: RP5-GM11
I used this in my 2003 GMC Sierra w/ Bose to retain the steering wheel controls and Bose amp. This is one of those unfortunate essentials in certain instances when installing a new head unit. Once making sure I understood the instructions completely I got to soldering and made all the necessary connections to my head unit (while sitting at a comfortable workbench. This took me a bit.). Factory plugs snapped right in and after spending some time stuffing all the wires and harnesses back in the dash I was able to wrap everything up. Steering wheel controls work just like they always did and audio sounds great. Good product with helpful, detailed instructions. ... show more

  • Helped alot
Size: RP5-GM11
I bought this to connect a jvc touch screen radio. This retained all I was expecting. The only problem I ran into was where to connect the swc connections to retain the steering wheel controls, as there is a 3.5mm jack and a blue/yellow wire, I contacted support and they said to connect the blue/yellow wire withe the steering wheel controller wire on the head unit and not to worry about the other 3 wires labeled steering wheel inputs 1, 2 and ground. Just make sure to read the instruction manual for programming the buttons, there is a specific order for each head unit brand. Only downside is my head unit doesn't have a play/pause for by audio ... show more

  • Very good product.
Size: RP5-GM11
I have just installed this device in my 2005 Chevy Tahoe. So far this has worked excellent. Fairly simple to wire up, makes the steering wheel controls work perfectly. Has the leads for the reverse gear for a backup camera already(this wire was not the same color as the wire out of my new head unit, it was labeled correctly but different color). Will allow you to retain the rear seat controls, and the audio for the factory DVD player. I set the chime to volume 3 and it sounds good. This is somewhat bulky and does take some work to push all of this into the dash of the Tahoe. My system has factory Bose amp, and for some reason in my mind when I was connecting all the wires I did not connect the amp lead wire out of the head unit. I assumed that since it was a factory install it wouldn't require that connection. When I connected this I had all functions, but no audio. One quick call to PAC fixed me up. They knew exactly what I had done, and was about a 1 minute conversation with the tech guy. Would definitely purchase this again. ... show more

  • Great product.
Size: RP5-GM11
Purchased this to install a Pioneer head unit into a Chevy Tahoe with Bose, steering wheel controls, and RSE. The install went very easily and everything works as advertised, very happy with it. Also, I was very hesitant to buy this based on several reviews that said the chime unit sounded really awful or cheap, I did not have any issues with the chime module at all, in fact I always thought the standard chimes which went through the radio were a little too loud anyway, these sound like they are on a normal car, it's not tinny or cheap sounding at all, and plenty loud, but I suppose a lot of how it sounds could be affected by where you place it in the car. The manual on the reprogramming procedure is pretty cryptic, I at first thought I would reprogram some of the buttons to get the onstar button to do something else, but when I called them for better instructions they said that I could indeed reprogram the button, but that I couldn't stop onstar from booming out whenever I hit it, so I just left it alone and didn't reprogram - all of the other buttons worked perfectly... Would absolutely recommend to anyone... ... show more
