I bought this ready for a trip where my Mariner would be parked at the airport for two weeks, just plugged it in and left it inside the windshield. When I returned the car started first time, no issues. Note: I did have to buy an adapter to reverse the connectors as it seems they have the positive and negative reversed on the ones supplied. The quality of the unit seems good with led lights to show you what is doing, its not very heavy at all but I was careful to keep it in the box it came in when not in use as it feels like it could break if dropped, the panel is not very thick.

The media could not be loaded. I have a 2011 Chevy Express Explorer that we mostly use for road trips and long travels. That means it sits parked for weeks or even months between trips, and the battery always used to drain if I didn’t start it regularly. This solar panel completely solved that problem. After two weeks of use, I can confidently say it keeps the battery from discharging. I haven’t had to jump it or worry about it going dead once since I hooked this up. When I first tried the panel at home, just to test it, I didn’t connect a battery - just put it under regular indoor light to see if the lights came on. I saw both the blue and red lights turn on, which confused me. According to the instructions, blue means the panel is getting sunlight, and red means it’s charging. But I had nothing connected, so I was scratching my head. Eventually I decided to actually open the manual (haha) and found out that if the panel isn’t getting enough light, both lights might turn on like that. As soon as I took it outside into full sunlight, the red light turned off immediately. That cleared it up. The kit comes with everything you need - cigarette lighter plug, alligator clips, SAE adapters, suction cups, and a carabiner. Very easy to install, plug-and-play. I just leave it on the dash and it keeps doing its job quietly. Definitely recommend this if you have a car, van, RV, or motorcycle that sits unused for long stretches. I don’t think it meant to fully charge a dead battery (I might be wrong though), but it’s perfect for keeping a good battery from slowly dying. Hope it helps.

This product was really a big disappointment. I ordered one and it did not work. Indicator lights showed that it was receiving sunlight and generating power. But as soon as I connected it to the battery, the indicator light went dark. According to the user manual, this indicates a short circuit. I called Amazon for tech support and was informed that the product comes from China and all they can do is send a replacement, since tech support is not available. When the replacement item arrived, I experienced the same problem. After speaking with a couple of factory-trained motorcycle repair technicians, the consensus is that the unit is not compatible with batteries used in the US. It may have to do with either amperage or wattage. In any event, it does not work.

I installed the OYMSAE 30W solar panel with the charge controller I already had and connected it to my 12V battery (like the one shown in the picture). From day one, I noticed it maintains a steady and consistent charge, even on partly cloudy days. The voltage stays around 14.3V, which is ideal for keeping the battery healthy without overcharging. I really like that it comes with handy accessories like the cigarette lighter plug and alligator clips. I used the clips and setup was very easy. The panel is lightweight, and I mounted it in a fixed position with no extra support needed. I’ve been using it to maintain the backup battery for my workshop system, and so far it’s been working flawlessly. It’s also reassuring to know the panel is waterproof—great for outdoor use.
