I have a Boston Terrier (30lbs, about 11 or 12 inches tall) and this door is perfect. I had ordered a few other brands in the past and the ones they recommended for her size were always small, hard to install, and didn't have much sturdiness to them. This one is the best I've used by far and she actually trusts going in and out with no apprehension. Assembly isn't hard, but if you use "pet proof" screen on your door, then the clip on feature (to align before using the bolts) doesn't work well because the screen is made to not allow punctures. That was my only issue, but I simply aligned it, used a sharp pointed object to set the bolt hole, put in the bolts, then worked on gently sealing the gate onto the screen. Finished it up by tightening the bolts and it's been super sturdy since the install. The other item I like is that the bolts you use don't protrude out and snag on anything (other sliding door parts or people), which is nice. The clips to lock the door work fine for my dog as well so the door overall is pretty seamless to the existing slider. The only item I would consider a concern is the long term durability of the screen that is placed in the footprint cutout in the door. My dog doesn't scratch at it very hard and while she learned to use it there have been only light paw pushes on that middle area, but I can see it bulging a bit here and there. Will keep an eye on that over time as it doesn't look like it's ripping or anything, but I'd expect that to stay a bit more taut since it's the designated push location for the dog. Overall, great product so far and worth the money!

I purchased the door for large pets as my dog is about 80 pounds. The door is sturdy and works as it should. However, it is a bit small for my dog. Installation was easy and took about a half hour. It installs directly into the screen of your door so upgrade you screen material to a more sturdy pet friendly type, standard screen material will not hold up. A small tip for installation.... Install the door fully and than cut out the screen for the door so the pet door will help hold the screen in place. Overall, my dog and I are happy with it. He goes in and out at will and I don't have to get up in the wee hours of the night.

We have 5 half yorkies/Maltese dogs….yes pray for my sanity lol. They’re our little fur babies now. We have a backyard that they do their doodoo duties and what not. Before buying this product we just kept the large glass sliding door open for years. We researched other types of doggy doors such as cutting a opening in the house wall to installing sliding glass window insert. None of which are easy and inexpensive. So we by chance stumbled upon this screen doggy door. Had it installed for a month now and it work perfect! Saw a vid of someone installing where they are took the whole screen door down but I didn’t have to do that. Just placed it in a spot that was suitable for my small dogs and leveler to keep it …well leveled lol. Then one screw driver installed it while holding up on my own. Took about 30 mins. Then the little testers tried it and of course took a week for all of them to figure it out but it’s a game changer. No more bugs flying all over the house and we live in Hawaii. The locking mechanism works nicely and easy. Just slide it outwards to lick the door and slide it back inwards to open it. It’s plastic and light so it’s easy for my little dogs to push in and out. Definitely a good buy!

Anybody who lives in a condo will know this pain. our pups love to go on the balcony, but how do we give them the freedom to go without leaving the screen door open and letting the bugs in!? I looked at a few screens and I'll be honest, the paw print sold me. The install guide was straight forward but here are some tips/issues #1 - Issue = They do not give you ANY extra screws or bolts. If Im paying $40 for a plastic door with a couple magnets and the screws are as tiny as they are, a few extras would be nice. I ended up losing a couple so I just had to go without. #2 - Cost Issue = For a plastic door, the price seems excessive. However, the other doors are just a regular screen. So see it as you will. Onto the tips #1 - Have a STRONG SCREEN! The only thing holding this up is your screen, so we actually had to replace the screen just to get this to hold (if not when pups would push it, there goes the screen with it). #2 - The small latches to lock it are a nice touch. Sometimes I dont want them going out there and barking at every leaf flying by...so theres that. (they are NOT security, its just a plastic tab that pushes in from either side) #3 The door opens easily with the pups push, now that they are use to it, they love it and so do we.

I couldn’t be happier with this doggy door! My puppy absolutely loves being able to go outside whenever she wants, and it's been a total game-changer for us. Before installing it, we had to leave the door open, which let in flies and bugs—definitely not ideal. Now, with the doggy door, she has her freedom, and we keep the house bug-free! The installation process was surprisingly simple and only took about 20-30 minutes with two people. The instructions were clear, and everything fit perfectly with our existing door. It feels sturdy and well-made, and my puppy figured it out quickly. I’m confident this will hold up well over time. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend this product—it’s been a win-win for both me and my pup!
