We decided to "upgrade" to this monitor after our cheap Amazon recommended one bit the dust. Ironically the cheap one seems to have been better - we could move it remotely, talk through the camera, and it was reliably connected via wireless. This camera must be manually placed and adjusted, has no speaker option, and seems to "lose connection" and need reset at least once a day. Additionally, it has a thermometer and humidity sensor, and the thermometer consistently reads 10° colder than actual - so we had to adjust the temperature alerts low so it would stop constantly alerting. Despite a tested and reliable WiFi network with a strong signal, my two cameras constantly disconnect from my WiFi network. When they are connected, the video feed is extremely slow to load. Images are high quality when they actually do come online. The app seems designed more for the Owlet sock than just the cameras and constantly prompts the user to enter sleep information even if you’re not using the sock for sleep/biometrics tracking. I definitely should have read the reviews on this before I bought it. If you are looking for a simple solution for keeping an eye on your newborn please keep looking. There is nothing simple or logical about the Owlet 2 Cam. The set up process is controlled by non-functioning QR codes that are displayed on your phone. These codes must be pointed at the camera so they can establish a connection. No matter what I did including using two different phones the camera would not recognize the code. In addition to that there is no manual override to bypass the QR code and enter a serial number like many other smart cameras. Why is this so difficult to set up? I needed a camera and this doesn’t work so I’ll be returning ASAP. ... show more

We ordered the Owlet Cam 2 even after reading a bunch of horrible reviews on it. The reason I ordered it was because I just figured that most reviews were due to user error. Turns out a lot of the reviews proved to be true. A few issues that I found to be most concerning and that make this product very unsafe: 1. There is a 5 second delay with the camera 2. The camera constantly disconnects from the app which then will not notify you of movement or noise There were a few other things that bothered me about this camera but those two were the biggest NOPE for me to decide to return it asap. The sock and camera are so not worth the money! The sock is easily shifted out of place by baby’s kicking movements, setting off the alarm. We quickly gave up trying to use it. The camera works ok but the app literally crashes every time it’s opened, so you have to restart the app every time you want to check the baby monitor - not great if you are relying on the baby monitor to…MONITOR YOUR NEWBORN! I would definitely not purchase this product again or recommend it to anyone. ... show more
