  • Update: replacement spool fixed issues. Major clogging/skipping issues.
Color: Tri-color Red Blue Green
Update (original review below). Manufacturer reached out to me after my review and discussed what printing settings I had tried. After some troubleshooting, they agreed to send me a new roll to try. The new roll arrived quickly and after a bit of fiddling I managed to get two great prints out of the new roll. I will say that the filament was a bit more finicky than normal PLA but once I got the settings right it looks great. I attached two pictures above, one showing the quality of prints of an octopus. The initial roll is in front and the completed print is in the background and the second picture. I highly recommend this filament and would not hesitate to buy it again despite the initial issues due to the manufacturer's excellent customer service. I will start off by saying that this filament looks great based on the layers that I could get to print properly. That being said, getting this to print without adhesion and clogging has been impossible for me with various settings. Adhesion to the bed seems great and the first few layers print very well. After a few layers though it seems like the filament begins to clog the nozzle and then skips layers, eventually ceasing to print entirely. I have tried adjusting temperature upward in increments and also slowed down the print speed, but I cannot get good layers. I also hear a popping noise from the nozzle which makes me think that the filament might contain excess moisture. I have tried the exact same file with both normal PLA and PETG and it prints fine which seems to indicate that the culprit is this filament. If you can get this to print successfully I think it would look fantastic, but I have not been successful so far. ... show more

  • My first time printing with wood infused PLA
Color: 4 Pack Wood PLA+
I've been wanting to try a wood filament and I'm glad to say that I'm having excellent results with this. My first print was a Benchy boat, and it came out very very nice. No bed adhesion issues. I love the flat texture, looks like People say that the filament is brittle, but I don't see that this is brittle to the point of snapping while printing. I haven't had any issues at all, other than some very fine stringing which wipes away when done. I'm printing at 200F. I love the wood smell. I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff with this filament!!!!! ... show more

  • Printing just fine, beautiful
Color: Two-color Christmas Red Green
I have a lowly Ender 3. I have some stuff fine tuned but its settings are no where close to being perfect. Lot of wiggle room, that being said. I printed a temp tower then got to printing. I’ve had zero issues with this filament and it is so gorgeous. Don’t be afraid of buying this. I bought the Christmas green red filament. Just beautiful. ... show more

  • Pretty, but Pretty Difficult
Color: Tri-color Red Blue Yellow
UPDATE: The seller reached out and replaced my spool. While it does print better, it's still has given me a lot of clogging issues. For the awesome customer service, I am changing my review from a 3-star to a four-star. It'd be a 4.5 if I could. First off, the stuff it makes is gorgeous. When you fight it long enough for it to stick and not clog, it's looks great. However, it's been a nightmare to get decent prints. I have an entire bag of failed prints. This review was conducted on a Ender 3 Pro with Microswiss hotend. As others have said, it will not stick to things. Gluestick or other adhesion is a must if you don't want to have a raft for everything. Tons of print failures even with adhesives. The clogging. Goodness, so much clogging. New .4mm nozzles and it still requires cold pulls every time you let the nozzle cool. Don't let the stuff harden if you don't want to pull out a clog. Randomly in prints it'll get clogged, print a ugly layer, then sort itself again. Feed failure. Make sure you have a good quality and sharp extruder gear or you will get slipping on the silk surface. Best print settings I've found: 220C (lower and it won't stick even to itself) 2.5mm retraction 50mm/s print speed For as expensive as the filament is, I was hoping for a lot less issues. I've printed dozens of spools of regular and silky PLA and this is the first stuff that I constantly have to babysit and cross my fingers for a good print. ... show more

  • Tri-color filament produces stunning results
Color: Tri-color Red Blue Yellow
3D printing hobbyist since 2009; have used nearly 2 rolls of this filament so far without any difficulties. This tri-color filament from OVV3D produces some stunning results! The color varies some with viewing angle resulting in a very nice print when the model has a lot of changing surface angles. On much simpler geometries you instead get a smoothly transitioning color as you rotate the print with more modest color variation with viewing angle. This is definitely a filament I intend on keeping in my arsenal for a long time. I've printed nearly two rolls of this filament now without any difficulty. Typical PLA printing: 220C for extrusion, 35C for heatbed, and a little gluestick has worked fine. (Also, just gluestick on a cold bed works too.) Filament comes on a cardboard/paper-based spool: your mileage may vary if using a Bambu Lab's AMS but if you do have difficulty just put it on the external spindle. ... show more
