Sturdy and beautiful shelf on casters

I knew when I was hauling the 60 lb box into my house this was going to be a sturdy shelf. Everything arrived well packaged and in pristine condition. I can see how other reviewers may have experienced damage to the corners of the shelves, since it was not protected well on the corners and it is such a heavy package, but mine came in great condition, and the components were thoughtfully organized. The instructions were mostly clear, and I appreciated that it took into account people who might want to make this into two separate shorter shelves instead of a single tall shelf, including extras of the rubber end caps for the steel upright posts to do so. It came together in under 30 minutes, and the variety of options for how to arrange the shelves makes it incredibly versatile. I opted for a mix of installations of the shelf brackets for different use cases, and it came out perfectly. I also hadn't noticed they include some side-mounted hooks, which I took advantage of as well. The casters are heavy duty, so I was not in the least concerned about how they would hold up under the combined weight of the heavy shelf pieces and my appliances I planned to store on them. The shelves themselves are dense, with a white layer on one side and a wood look on the other, so can kind of choose how you want things to look. I already have plans to buy more, and knew I was going to come here to write a recommendation. If I encounter any issues I will come back and share them, but I have it loaded up now, and it is still sturdy and easy to roll. Definitely recommend!

This is a really nice shelf. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and build. It wasn't hard to put together and I am very happy with my purchase. I use it in my pottery studio to set pieces on to dry or sit after unloading the kiln.

Man this was exactly what I was looking for to house a projector high off the ground, provide extra storage, wheeled to move the projector around, and looks good enough to blend with furniture. Shelves are completely customizable. Any level you want. You can do a raised edge on one side, three sides , all sides, and each shelf can be different! Top shelf I have electronics so I edge the sides for protection and back open for power cords, front open for access. Bottom shelf no raised edges so the storage containers fit. Top shelf you can even put a bit below the very top of the poles. Even comes with hooks I use as a cord wrap. Want it wheeled? Can do. Want it stationary? Can do. Want a wood grain look? Flip the shelf this way. Want white? Flip it over. Looks a million times better than the wire adjustable shelves. Seriously perfect for basement, garage, any room that’s less formal. It’s not a pottery barn piece so probably not for the living room but looks great and the price is great for what you get. The shelves are compressed wood. I’d say sturdy enough for medium duty like a packed storage bin but not for heavy duty like a 300lb compressor. For indoor medium duty these shelves are awesome. Seriously.

Very Pleased with this Shelf

I purchased the 5 Tier White rolling shelf. I was very pleased at the quality of this shelf. Unlike some of the shelves I have purchased in the past, the holes for the rails are only on the inside, so the outside viewable uprights are very clean looking. The shelves have a wood finish on them also making them look very nice. The wheels seem to be of good quality and are large enough to easily roll over carpet and even thresholds in the house. Whereas this shelf was not cheap, I feel like its quality is worth the price. They even included a hammer to put the shelves together/take them apart and some hooks that can be snapped on the shelf rails. For my use, I am going to put bins on the shelves so I set them up where they slope to the front. I played with the very top shelf with the board on top vs inset and appreciate the ability to have options for different use cases. I would highly recommend this shelf for someone looking for a nicer rolling shelf. The only thing I would like is the ability to buy a single shelf to add to this.

The 16.5" width is not accurate. I had 16.6" of space where I needed to put it, but the wheels cause the unit to be more like 17".

Heavy Duty and Attractive

I don't like knock together shelving units but this one is by far better than the ones with the big key holes that you get from the big box stores. It is heavy duty. The package weighed 60 lbs. I'm a 74 year old woman and I could barely get it into the car. It goes together easier than the big key hole ones because when you tap the side supports into place, they stay there. You can even lay the framework on it's side to work on it. If you tried that with the big key hole ones they would completely fall apart. (A rubber mallet works better than the little mallet they supply) There is a transition piece that locks the top part to the bottom part so you are not forced to put a shelf at the transition. This is revolutionary! If you have tried to put the top part together with the bottom part on the big key hole ones you know that you can only do it with 6 or 7 clamps. The wheels are big and beefy and the locks work well. It is attractive. I am using it in my shop but you can easily use it in a rec room to hold stereo equipment, for example. It is a sleek black with wood toned shelves. All the fastenings are hidden. It does not look like something that only belongs in a work shop. Depending on how you install the side pieces, you can have a lip around the shelf so things can't fall off, or you can put the shelves on top of the supports, without a lip. Some things to look out for during assembly: The long uprights go on the bottom, the short ones on the top. Make sure all the keyholes have the fat side at the top. They put the top to bottom transition piece in the wrong end on three pieces. Measure the things you are going to put on the rack, before you assemble it. I don't know how the shelves would hold up on a very heavy load. They are a composite. For an extra heavy load, you can cut 1/2" in. plywood shelves and put them under the shelves they supply. The "lip" installation will hide the plywood. The instructions are not that great. If you have never put a rack together, it might be difficult to figure out the instructions.
