Worked well so far. Gave it a good dry just to be safe before printing, and the quality has been nice. With some sanding and a bit of stain I was able to get some really good wood looking textures (there is no grain printed onto the platform, I found with a water based stain that if you apply it generously and then wipe it away softly, it will pool up in a way that looks like wood grain). Used on my anycubic Kobra X at 195C with the regular brass 0.4mm nozzle without fuss. I think it’s a good value if you want to print something that looks and feels a little more woody. Id also recommend higher infills, having a little heft and a deeper sound make it feel more wood like. (Note the arm in the picture is different, only the base is wood PLA and was the best stain job I’ve gotten so far) ... show more

I bought this filament to print my kids some toys. I’ve tried plenty of rainbow filaments but never the tri color. The matte finish turned out to be really nice and I’ll certainly be trying additional varieties from this manufacturer. Keep in mind that this type of pla is more abrasive and will wear down your equipment faster. I would recommend doing some research and creating your own custom print profile before printing this stuff at top speed. ... show more

    • A Frustrating Mess – Stringy, Inconsistent, and Poor Color Quality

I had high hopes for the OVV3D Matte Tri-Color Rainbow PLA, but it turned out to be the single worst filament I’ve ever used. Right from the first layer, it was clear this was going to be a struggle. The filament is incredibly stringy, leaving fine plastic wisps all over the print that are a nightmare to clean up. No matter how much I adjusted my retraction settings or lowered the temperature, the oozing never stopped. It’s a mess that ruins the surface finish of even the simplest models. The print quality itself is just as disappointing. I experienced constant issues with clogging and uneven extrusion, which led to weak layer bonding and several failed prints halfway through. For a filament marketed as "easy to print" with stable diameter tolerances, it performed very poorly. It seems to be extremely sensitive to environmental conditions, and even after drying it out, the performance didn't improve. It’s simply not a reliable material for anyone wanting a smooth, "set it and forget it" printing experience. Perhaps the biggest letdown was the color. The "Matte Rainbow" effect I was expecting was completely absent. Instead of a vibrant, gentle transition between colors, the shades looked dull, muddy, and darker than advertised. The tri-color blending didn't happen as promised; it mostly just looked like a dirty, inconsistent gray-ish mess on my final pieces. It lacks the "dream-like" quality shown in the marketing photos and looks very cheap once finished. I am giving this one star because it is practically unusable. Between the constant stringing, the mechanical failures, and the ugly color output, it was a total waste of money and time. If you’re looking for a high-quality matte or multicolor filament, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.     • Beautiful print quality, questionable filament diameter tolerance control

Really like this filament. That said, it has gotten stuck in my Bambu A1 direct extruder suggested the diameter is larger/smaller than tolerance. I know it was stuck in the extruder because it wouldn't push out of the extruder even with the hot head removed. Only happen 1 time, but was in the middle of a 200g print and failed at 168g; so about $7.00 down the toilet and back 12 hours in print time. Update: Failed on reprint after about 93g. So out 261g filament for a 200g print... Trying again. Will be requesting a replacement if this next one fails. I looked back at my smaller prints and realized I hit the same problem on another print, but it was at the very end of the print so I expect no impact on it. Really torn on this filament. I love the appearance, but quality control on filament diameter appears lacking. 10Apr25 Update: Clogs continue to be a problem, especially in case of long prints. Drying helps out a lot, but if you cannot dry and feed to your printer you should expect clogging. Love the color and print quality so I am keeping it 4 star, but I cannot give it a 5 star given the advance handling required. Also to clarify - the clogging occurs during filament switch on a Bambu A1 Mini. Only humidity issue I see during printing itself is it will start to get stringy after about 2-3 days of being out and printing in approximately 50% ambient humidity (Florida) ... show more
