The media could not be loaded. On the picture, this overhead tripod looked like an architect's lamp support, and when it arrived, it was precisely that in height, weight, and construction. If you are trying to decide if this is the right overhead tripod for you, just look at the table lamp you likely already own. So the tripod had a bit lighter construction than I hoped. I bought this mount to use with the Pixel 6 Pro phone, which is a fairly heavy phone. I mounted the phone using the Shinewee cell phone mount with the Ulanzo video light in the cold shoe. The phone is 7.41 oz, the light is 3.9 oz, and the cell phone mount is 4.9 oz, for a total of 16.21 oz. The tripod held this weight, but it felt that it was at the top of its capability as I had to tighten it multiple times to keep it stable. The overhead tripod came with its own cell phone holder, but that holder is pretty bad. It is a tension-built mount that did not feel sturdy or secure enough to hold a large cellphone like Pixel 6 Pro.     • Just FYI if you recieve a defected product
So just received this mount today and it came defected but luckily I was able to fix it quickly. Maybe mine was a one off but you might have this issue. So the base where you clamp on your desk installed fine but when I went to put the long arm to the base I realized it wasn't going in the hole at all. I looked into the base hole and realized a long piece a plastic had not only covered the side screw hole but also was blocking the arm from going in. It seems like a production error and just extra plastic was printed and connected to the side. I tried pushing it out but again it was connected to the hole part. Luckily, the top hole part pops off and a long piece of plastic was connected where it shouldn't. I just took some clippers and just clipped the plastic off and put it back in the base and now the side hole wasn't covered and there was nothing blocking the arm from entering. It wasn't a big issue but I wasn't exactly happy since if I couldn't fix it I would have to refund it or return it. The arm install was smooth after and I actually like the mount and how much control you have on the arm. ... show more

    • Decent and cheap clamp mount
If you need a cheap clamp mount, they are all about the same, so why spend $30 when $10 (on sale) will do? Wanting to expand my mounting options, and thought this would be a nice addition. For ten bucks, it is. The phone holder is useless for me--the lips that grab the side of the phone are so shallow that I couldn't fit my phone in face up! It's in a thin case, but it's a quad lock case, so it does have a teeny protrusion right in the middle, but even that tiny bump is enough to make it not fit. Got any kind of protective case, it would not work either. Of course that doesn't really matter because if you want to point your main camera at a target, you would need to put the phone into the mount screen down. And it's pretty hard to see what's on the camera when your phone display is mostly blocked by the mount! Tbh, I see many phone holders designed this way, so it's not just this product, but it's still annoying. ... show more

    • Good product except for the clamp that holds the phone.
I purchased this product to scan family phot albums into a digital format. The product mounts easily and the locking mechanisms work pretty good. My only complaint is the clamp that holds the phone. I have an IPhone 13 Max Pro and the clamp canโ€™t be centered on the phone unless you turn off the emergency notification setting. I clamped it twice, my phone called 911 and I thought I turned it off in time; I was wrong. The other issue was the width the clamp would expand without. It barely made the width of the i[hone and there was so much tension it popped out the springs in the clamp. I was able to use it for a few days before the springs popped out. I think the product is good if you donโ€™t stress the clamp. ... show more

    • Does the job.
I have been using this tripod all week to record my videos for online class. It has been sturdy and kept the camera overhead of my work space. Doing just what I need it to do. The only thing that is a little fiddly is the clamp to attach the arm to the desk.
