    • A good buy and very simple to install
I bought these chair 'glides' to replace the wheels on my drafting chair. I have a tall drafting chair for my drawing table in my art studio. The studio has a laminated 'hardwood' floor. The drafting chair rolls so easily on that smooth, hard surface that getting in the chair was a struggle. I found that I had to hang on to the drafting table to keep the chair from rolling away from me as I sat down. After years of putting up with this, I finally wondered if there was a way to replace the wheels with something that wouldn't roll. These glides were perfect. The glides come in a few different heights. Check the height of the wheels on your existing chair before ordering the glides so that you end up with the same height on your chair. (Since most office chairs have adjustable height adjustments, this would not be an issue in most cases anyway.) The process of removing the existing wheels and installing the new glides took only a minute or two and was done entirely by hand. The existing and replacement chair leg bottoms are a press fit. They pull free and click into place with no tools needed. If you feel that it's a little to difficult for you, a screwdriver used as a 'pry' tool for removal and a small hammer for a tap to get the new glide to snap into place could be used. (A rubber mallet would be perfect, if you have one.) I took one star off of "maneuverability" rating only because the glides don't glide quite as easily as I expected even with the additional pads that are provided installed. In fairness, my drafting chair is heavier than a standard desk chair. Also I was trying to stop my chair from rolling so easily, and the glides accomplished that. I feel a little guilty for penalizing the glides for doing what I wanted! However, I do think it is worth noting that the pads do not slide as smoothly as those I have put on other chairs before.     • Great replacement to use instead of wheels
I have 100+ year old hardwood floors that I did not want to risk getting scratched with roller wheels on my desk chair. These replacements fit great and have not scratched the floor yet after a couple months of use.

I ordered these to convert a wheeled, rolling office chair into a stationary one and they did exactly what I had hoped for. Easy to install; just remove the wheels and push these into place where the wheels go. Since they’re made of similar material as the wheels that came with the chair, they look great; you can’t even really tell they are an alteration. The build feels sturdy and solid. Minus one star because the bottom of the plastic is a bit rough, even with the small, included adhesive pads attached. I would suggest using this only on carpet, or adding chair socks so as not to possibly damage hard floors. Despite that small issue, I would still recommend these as a good option if you are looking to make a moving chair into a stationary one. ... show more

    • Saved us from buying new chairs!
These worked great. We even ordered more for other chairs. My mother has a hard time walking and getting up lately and rolling chairs were just no good for her anymore. We were going to buy new chairs until I found these. We took the wheel casters out, put these in and it was a perfect fit! I do wish they were a little taller because once you replace it from the wheel it lowers the chair a bit. The felt pads aren't big enough to raise the height and the office chair is at the highest it will go. But they still work great and will help keep the chair in one place as she sits and stands. So glad this was an option because it's really hard to find swivel chairs that aren't on wheels! ... show more

These bell glides are super easy to install with the option to have them locking or not, there is a small piece of metal that you can remove to have them lock into place better. We chose not to lock them. We used these on 3 gaming computer chairs around the house as an alternative to wheels because of having plush carpet. In comparison to other similar products, this brand has optional felt pads; I can see where the felt pads would be helpful for hardwood floors but for carpeting, it is better to have just the bare plastic. They seem to be holding up just fine even with 300lbs. ... show more

Bought a rolling drafting chair to use as a tall stool for doing hair and every time I move I felt like it was going to roll from underneath me or I kept picturing it skidding back when I went to sit down and now all that is gone!     • What a great option to wheeled stool.
I used this to replace the wheels I had on a bench type stool. There seemed to be no safe way of getting on that seat, it would just roll away!!! I realized that even having breaks on the wheels would be just too tedius. This was the perfect solution. Highly recommended!!!
