I purchased two of the awning for our back porch. Took 2 days to assemble them. Our intentions were to attach these to our house and we did so they have no trouble staying put. Unless tou plan to screw this down to decking look for something else. It's not meant to sit on lawn or cement staked down. The awning material is not totally waterproof. We got a large tarp and covered the top of the awnings, and for us it's perfect. Covered the porch cheaper than building a permanent lean to roof. This looks so pretty, and I love how the sides can be let up of down so we have privacy if we want it. My opinion is price should be a little cheaper but worth the buy.

At first when I was starting putting it together, thought it looked fairly decent. But as it was coming together, it was made out of the thinnest metal I have ever seen on an outdoor structure. The hardware used is completely inadequate. The laughable connection for the corner, they used thin "L" shaped bolts to save on hardware costs with tiny nuts. You will need at least two people to put it together because of the ingenious design, even shows it on their instruction video, three people. The top ripped off on the first mildly windy day, even left behind the little velcro strips on the frame. I'm 6'3" and can't take the tarp/cover off. There is no way to get the top cover off easily or even semi conveniently, so if you live in an area that gets any wind (i.e.: anywhere in the world), good luck taking it off to protect it or your house. After being frustrated with it, left the cover off, which is the whole point. Took it down about two weeks later, noticed the bolts were rusting and now have to figure out how I'm going to get this thing to the dump, you'll need a truck or dumpster close by. Not worth your time and frustration. If you think you're going to buy it, just donate the money to a cause and save yourself the headache of disposing of it.

I was hesitant to purchase but went for it anyway. When I opened the box I was worried about the color of the canopy because it was so light. Once it was all put together the color actually looked better and would blend in with pretty much any decor. I liked the size of this and it wasn’t crazy difficult to put together, just tedious. I was pleased with it once it was all together but the feeling didn’t last long. Within a week, we had a day of fairly heavy rainfall. Within minutes, the canopy was sagging in several spots and the front part that can be adjusted completely caved in because the metal rods bent due to the weight of the water. I basically wasted that money for something that lasted only about a week. I give up on anything with a soft canopy!!! Also, as I was taking it down, I noticed how much the nuts and bolts had already rusted in just a couple weeks.

Just assembled yesterday. Took 2 people approximately 5 hours. Assembled in yard, then moved to deck. Could have used 4 ppl to move! Directions were very difficult to decipher. Only 4 picture diagrams. A few pieces were difficult to fit together. One piece had a hole drilled wrong. My deck is 8'1" x 12'. The 8' deep pergola just barely fit to screw onto deck. I don't have room for the awning extension, so we cinched the extra cloth top up with zip ties. The velcro straps all around the top are short and difficult to secure. I plan to secure the top cover with zip ties to increase security from wind. For the price (and my limited 8' space) I am happy with it.

This canopy has rusted within a month of being installed. Will need to paint with linoleum to prevent further rusting. Water tends to gather on top of the canopy so had to put noodles between the structure and tarp. Just FYI.

I set this up by myself, had someone foot a leg towards the end. The directions were just 2-3 pictures. I had to add Velcro to a few spots because either the strip wasn’t long enough, or because of the strips location (right where the bolt holes are to attach it to a building). While I do have water pooling issues, it occurs directly where the roof runoff hits. So far it has withstood 20 mph winds and I have only had one Velcro strip’s stitches popped.

JUNK! The instruction book and video was terrible extremely um-helpful very hard to fallow just a bunch of poor diagrams no written instructions -- the video showed a bunch of guys putting it together no verbal sound track. After several rainy days the thing collected so much water it broke some of the railing. There isn't enough weep holes to let the water out and the ones that are there are not placed to do any good. Not Happy

The pergola works great. Directions for assembly are a little confusing. One of the F cross bars had the connection tabs broke off when we took it out of the box. So it's missing a cross bar.
