  • Quality Steel/Easy Setup
While this 24 inch size is still portable, it also looks impressive for use at home on a patio or deck for gatherings. It's the legs rather than the ring at the bottom that makes the difference for me. People already have commented on how good it looks and on the amount of heat it puts out, even when it's in the 40's outside! Loving it so far. Wish they included a hard metal lid for it. Had to buy that separately through another vendor. The vinyl cover is at least something. Vendor shipping box is also excellent with a heavy duty box and styrofoam inserts to cradle it. ... show more

  • Great Propane Firepit!
We’ve had this for 5 years and we bring it camping when we can’t have real fires. It works great and gives off good heat as well. Also great for s’mores 😁

  • Anniversary Present for the Wife. She LOVES it.
My wife wanted a fire pit for a long time and unfortunately our residence only allows Propane Fire Pits. This thing is ridiculously easy to set up and is as easy as taking it out of the box, opening and dumping out a few backs of Lava Rock, attaching it to a Propane take and lighting it. Like the instructions say, it does take about 10 minutes for the rocks to heat up and the flames to come into full effect. My wife absolutely loves it and it puts out a pretty good deal of heat. Obviously not as much as a wood burning fire pit, but much more than I was actually expecting. Definitely enough to keep you warm. The other advantage is the convince. No ash, no wood to carry and no smelling like a camp fire the next day. Im not saying I don't love that smell, I do. But that's kind of the point, this thing isn't designed to replace a camp fire. Out of everywhere we looked, both in stores and online, this was hands down the BEST value and size for the price. Flames are a nice decent size and sitting back in a chair at dusk, it really does look like a real fire. Portability and carrying are super easy. It's not exactly light, but it's definitely not heavy either. I'd say maybe 15-20lbs tops. ... show more

  • Really nice one
Really happy with the size, heat, look of this fire pit!

  • Great propane fire pit, but with the usual caveats
As far as a portable propane fire pit, this does great. There is a faint hissing sound (comes with the territory) when it's turned up above medium, but it lasts a good long time and puts out a good amount of heat. I think higher quality rock/stones would radiate more heat after warmup, but this kept us comfortable sitting around it on a couple cool evenings in central WA this October. Assembly is ridiculously easy, and it's not too heavy to easily carry around (as long as you have long arms, given that it IS two feet wide and you want to avoid shifting the rock around to prevent long term damage to the burner). I am looking into a different style of burner either with cross tubes or a smaller circle in the center to create a more "overall" flame for the pit, but it's not necessary. Just my personal aesthetic opinion has me curious. ... show more

  • they’ll ship them all like this from now on
This was shipped by Amazon it its original box only. When it arrived I saw a big gash on the box. Sure enough, when I opened it there was a major dent in the rim of the firebowl. I immediately called the manufacturer, because the instructions say to call them first before returning it to the retailer. Well they told me to go ahead and contact Amazon for a replacement. I did the return online and it came today. This time the box was placed inside another box with some paper stuffing to protect the inner box. When I opened the box there was no damage. Hopefully, they’ll ship them all like this from now on. This firepit works very well and puts out a lot of heat. The key to getting maximum heat is to make sure that you scatter the small rocks at the very bottom of the bowl. When you start laying the large rocks, do not set them too close to the gas ring. You don’t want to obstruct the holes at all. This will allow the flames to cascade around the larger rocks creating a high flame of 4 - 10 inches. If you let the rocks get too close to the holes the flames won’t be as high. The key is to create a circular tunnel of large rocks over the fire ring. Another bonus is the plastic cover that comes with it. The instructions say to keep it out of the rain and to put it away during rainy weather. Well, I’m too lazy to lug it into the garage every time it rains. When I put the cover on it I was surprised that it covered the whole thing, even the flame-shaped holes on the side. You definitely don’t need to move it inside when it’s raining once the cover is protecting it. I wasn’t keen on the aesthetics of a 20 lb. propane tank sitting out in the open so I also got this deck box to store it in. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00013BUW8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had to cut out a circle in the bottom so that the tank would fit since the tank is too tall. Now I have a nice looking storage box to house the tank and also to serve as a nice side table. There’s enough room inside to store the firepit cover, a cushion or two, or whatever. There’s a small gap between the bottom and the patio for the hose to fit into so that the hose threads up through the bottom, which you have cut out, and into the tank. Overall, an awesome fire pit. I used it on Thanksgiving night for several hours and didn’t see the gauge on my tank move very much. Update 9/2/15: Still loving this fire pit. I replaced the light weight l lava rocks with regular red lava rocks from my local rock/masonry supplier. Very cheap way to go and the rocks will last forever unlike the ones that are supplied. I'm also adding a picture of the Rubbermaid Brute 44 gallon trash can lid which I use to provide a solid rain cover. It costs only $16 right now for the black one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005KD0U16/ref=mobile_oh_details_?ie=UTF8&psc=1# ... show more

  • Fire lovers only! Very cozy
Great for small deck area and backyards. I love a good fire pit vibe. I usually go for the wood fire pit but we now have a smaller back deck area and this is perfect. Easy to set up. It came with a nozzle for the propane tank, the heating rocks for the fire, and a top cover for the fire pit when not in use. We set it up the first day and started burning right away. We went to the Home Depot for a propane tank for $60 and lit the fire without any problems. Highly recommend. It’s safe, easy to use, and perfect for any area. Smokeless and stylish. Full fire with high flames, very cozy. Thanks, MzTU ... show more
