  • This thing (lava) rocks.
Color: Black
Got this for $90 refurb and couldn’t be happier. Bought the 30 lb propane tank w fuel gage for $80 on Amazon (Flame something) on sale from $130 and now chilling in the crisp fall air with my tire rim sized, smokeless, ashless, fire pit. For all those folks who say “the flames look so real” that’s b/c they are real. Ya think if you put your hand in them you’re not going to the ER instantly?! And they also get up there in height. Me and Gus, my 🐶, are sitting next to it now and it’s 50 degrees outside and it’s giving off nice heat. We loving it and you will too. Turns an otherwise useless fall/winter space into a hang. And Bonnie at the county propane store, told me I’d get at least 15-20 hours on a full tank ($35). Not so chilly on chill fall night… ... show more

  • Super easy to set up
Color: Black
I really enjoy this fire pit because I don't have to gather wood and start a fire every time I want to sit outside beside a fire. I thought that I would miss a real fire but this was so easy to set up and start (minutes) and I didn't have to deal with smoke or embers blowing around. It puts off plenty of heat and has a nice glowing fire to it. I love it !!! ... show more

  • Love Love Love it! Extends our evening with cosy warmth, looks great too!
Color: Black
We love love love this firepit! We are full-time RVers and had been eyeing off this item for several months before pulling the trigger right before Christmas. We both hate fake looking tacky firepits but we had read good reviews about this one. We're pleased to say that it looks good, throws off a good amount of warmth and means we can have a fire whenever we like - without having to pay to rent a firepit from a campground or buy firewood, or worry about carrying wood from state to state (not allowed some states). Also no more smoky smell in our clothes, burning eyes or worrying about crackling wood spitting sparks up at us. We can just turn it on/off/up/down as and when we wish. Yes, I know nothing beats the sound and smell of a "real" campfire, but as full-time RVers, this is perfect for us. Especially in light of the fire bans in California and other areas at risk in summer where there is a fireban.... we can run our propane pit without any concern at all. The first night we fired it up was in Palm Springs in mid December, while the days are very warm the desert nights can get cool. We had some people around for Happy Hour at 4pm, as the afternoon became cool, we started up our new firepit, and were able to sit up close to it safely staying toasty warm - we were so cosy we didn't even notice the time flying by until it was after 10pm! This firepit will definitely be extending our days into nights, allowing us to be outdoors more often in the evenings without worrying about being too cold. We ran the firepit at the low level (about a quarter of the full capacity) all evening and it was perfectly fine for us, no idea how much propane it used, but we don't expect it was very much, due to the low setting. Am sure it would suck up propane much faster on high, but honestly we didn't need it on high. Low looked and felt good and kept us outside an extra 4 hours than we probably would have stayed otherwise. Set up your firepit and place the rocks from each bag per the instructions and voila - you are ready to go! Suggest giving the rocks a quick rise and dry first to remove the powdery residue on them when they arrive. Definitely one of our favorite purchases for our "outdoor" RV living since starting out full-time 6 months ago. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT QUALITY, VERY NICE LOOKING!
Color: Black
This is my 3rd propane campfire. The other 2 were from Camp Chef. All 3 are excellent fire rings. This review is to point out some comparisons. My 1st one was the Camp Chef with the chrome ring around. It had a built in lighter & safety thermocouple. Sounds good but in actual practice it was a pain. Absolutely COULD NOT GET WET or lighter wouldn't work. Also, small pieces of lava rock kept moving too close to the lighter & shorting it out. 2nd was Camp Chef cheapest basic model. Nothing but a On/Off valve. Not very pretty but got the job done. No safety device of any kind. I stupidly gave it away with my camp trailer when I sold it. After looking & comparing, I recently bought this Outland 823 unit & I'm VERY happy with it. About the same size as the other two, looks exactly like the picture. I'm using it in my patio & it looks great. I thought, excellent setup instructions (hookup, lava placement, etc.).Lights very simple with a propane lighter. When it lights there's a WHOOSH of flame so a match is not a real good idea. For my liking, I keep the gas turned low. Plenty of flame & saves gas. After it's on a few minutes at this setting, the fire is about like a small wood campfire (without any smoke). The only safety feature is that you must push in the control valve to open it. At least it can,t be opened by just a bump like my #2 Camp Chef. One warning on this unit is: DO NOT EVER DROP THE REGULATOR ON A HARD SURFACE! The slightest dent in the edge will break the seal of the diaphragm inside & you'll have a dangerous propane leak. This applies to any brand of fire ring because they all seem to use a crimped together regulator. The reason I took one star off my rating is because the hose is crimped on at both ends. This may sound great because there's NO assembly needed when hooking up. But it becomes difficult if you ever need to replace the regulator or hose. I'd much prefer a hose that was removable with a wrench. Added 4/22/24: Had a few years now. still love it. Just wanted to add. I'm in a wheel chair & the lighting flair up is because I can only use one hand & turning on the valve, THEN lighting makes the WHOOSH of flame. Cured this by using one of those shredded fire starter things ea. time. Now I just put one where I know the burner tube is & light IT with a rechargable candle lighter, THEN turn on the gas. Works great. A few sparks that only travel a few inches before burning out, but MUCH better than old way of lighting. Not nec. if you have both hands avail. Just wanted to pass along if you're like me with only 1 usable hand. ... show more

  • Works great and gives off a decent amount of heat
Color: Black
I bought this use on the patio. I love the feel of the fire but not the smell of the smoke. I didnt want to mess around with wood or buy an expensive smokeless fire pit. Which are never truly smokeless. Typically I only have 4 people that sit around this, so we can be close to it without being crowded and still get heat off it. I wish I would have opted for a fire pit with a striker instead of using a lighter but that's my own fault for not thinking of it before I bought it. ... show more
