    • Good stove, better value.
Quite impressive for the cost! Everything feels quite stout and fits well, I like the folding legs and drying racks. I wanted to try a hot tent stove, but didn't want to go all in on an expensive one, as I wasn't sure I would like it too much. Turns out I do! Pros: As previously stated- very nice construction, stainless body on the stove is much thicker than I expected. Pipe segments all fit in the stove without too much struggling, makes it easy to pack up Decent size, can ALMOST fit full 16in logs in it. It looks like a little robot, which is rad. Price is very good for what you get Cons- The damper is VERY sensitive to changes, so you have to be careful when turning the fire down The door is unsealed, and will dump smoke if you don't carefully adjust the dampener. Added gaskets to the door, and modified the latch to put better pressure on the seal. We will see if it effectively cuts down on smoke. Door is also much thinner steel than the rest of the stove. Gets stiff to operate with a hot fire. The stove pipe, while clearly of quality, is a tad short. You could buy another pipe segment, but you'll lose your ability to store all the segments within the stove. As this stove is riveted rather than welded, I fear the rivets will not last forever with multiple heat cycles. Time will tell I suppose, but after 5 fires in it, with some accidental "glowing" incidents, the stove hasn't warped or shown any signs of deteriorating. Overall? Highly recommend for the price. You get an attractive, medium sized hot tent stove, with a window. My standard camp kettle fit in the burner hole perfectly, yours probably will too. ... show more
