On the new unit, the reliability is much better. The original unit failed to receive Siri requests about 50% of the time. On the new unit, the failure rate is almost zero. So I do like the smart plug, but it sort of defeats the purpose when it disconnects from the network periodically. It might be once every week or two, or sometimes twice in a week, but I've had other smart outlets that never have that sort of issue. If it could work without disconnecting, I'd say it's a huge win for the value. ... show more

I got this to power lights in my back yard, and while I haven't installed it out there, setting it up in my home office was very easy, as was tying it in to Alexa. You can control both outlets together, or one outlet at a time. And you can use Alexa, other assistants, or the mobile app (turns out I have another of this company's smart plugs in my garage somewhere, or did at some point). I will probably get one for the front yard to power and control some light strings, and possibly a second one for the back yard for the same. ... show more

I got this smart plug for our outside front porch where i have lights around my door , there is no timer on those lights and it's a pain to keep trying to remember to turn them on and off all the time, this smart plug is great because i can set up when it turns on and off via the smart life app which is very easy to navigate . Nothing to get super excited about, it just works, which is exactly what i wanted. I like how the rubber covers fit pretty tight to keep water out and label the socket number so i know what is on which number.
