I have five of these providing power to my larger aquariums. They were easy to configure and work as expected. Today, one of them failed. Power delivery stopped and the tank it was powering went dark and silent. I could see the indicator light on the unit feebly flickering, then it went dark. I plugged it into another outlet, nothing. It's dead, Jim. As Dr. Mccoy would say. So, I used the Amazon feature to send a message to "Get Help" which gave me the opportunity to send the seller a message. I related the above to them and wondered when I would hear back. This was Sunday afternoon, today. I head back just a few hours later. Around 8 AM Shenzhen time I got a message from them indicating they had made a refund and there was no need to return the failed unit. I thanked them and promptly ordered a replacement. I bought this for outdoor Christmas lights. It really wasn't any more expensive than the non-Wifi outdoor timers I've been buying. I followed the directions, downloaded the SmartLife app, and it connected the first time to my Wifi. It picks up the signal from the house out to the front of the garage without any trouble. The app doesn't have a lot of directions, but it is pretty easy to figure out. I don't use Alexa so I can't say how well it merges with that. I like this so much, I'm looking at some of the Wifi light bulbs that work with the SmartLife app so that I can control some other lights. I like the physical flexibility of the 4 plugs, each hanging loose. I also like that each plug can be controlled individually. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical with how well this plug would work, especially with using it via Alexa, however I was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for a way to add more plugs in one area and not necessarily expecting the "Smart" feature to work well or at all. The item came quickly and packaged well. The unit itself is a bit on the large size, however it is flat so it can lay against the wall. If you have one of those outlet covers, you don't have to worry about it not being able to close. Mine closes right over the plug with no problem. There are 4 individual plugs, each of which you can program. I have not set individual scheduling times yet, however that feature does come up on the app. Currently I have 3 pond pumps running via this plug ( 145 gallons, 100 gallons, and a 20 gallon) so far so good! There are simple instructions included but I will give you a quick run down:The plug took me about 15 mins to set up. Would have been much much shorter time, but I had mixed up my labels so I thought it wasn't working when in actuality it was powering something else on and off ( my mistake!!). Setup is a breeze (make sure you don't make the same mistake with mislabeling your plugs!!!). Download Smartlife, enter WiFi info, search Plug, plug into outlet, power off 10 secs, power back on, hold button until blue light flashes 5 secs, then wait for it to sync, and that's pretty much it. That all took maybe 5 mins. I then opened my Alexa app, went to settings, searched Smartlife, enabled sync, and was all set!! I am able to use voice command via my Echo show, Alexa App, or via the Smartlife App. All in all I am so happy with my purchase. Would definitely reccomend. ... show more

Okay, once you get it paired, this is a very nice device. But the instructions packed with it, as well as the guidance offered by the seller’s support people is dead wrong. Here is how to set it up, to use the Smart Life app on an iPhone to control it. The switch needs to physically be less than three to four feet away from your wireless hub during pairing. I tried from just eight feet away for over an hour, before I tried moving it closer, on the end of a three prong extension cord. It was still trying to sync when I moved it closer, and it snapped right into sync when I got three feet away. Your iPhone needs to be on the same 2.4 GHz wifi as the switch during setup. (You can change the phone back to 5 GHz wifi for your phone after the device is set up.) The switch will select the closest available 2.4 GHz wifi when you pair it. (Which is possibly why it needs to be close during setup, so it knows which wifi to pair on.) That almost unreadably tiny QR code in the instructions did take me to a download webpage for the “Smart Life” app, for my iPhone. Searching in the Apple App store for Smart Life found two apps, with no way to tell which was the correct one. You want the one with a blue app icon, with a white house-shaped outline on it. Download it and sign up for a new account, if you have not used that app before. Open the app, and click on the + or on the add device button. Choose wifi power strip, then click through the instructions, giving it your wifi password, and stop when it asks you to confirm the light is blinking rapidly. Plug the switch in, and the button will light up green, indicating all outlets are on. You first need to press that button one time, so it turn BLUE, indicating it is off. Then and only then, you can hold the button down for five seconds, and it will start the rapid blue blinking. In the app, confirm the light is blinking. It should start scanning for a device to pair with. If all goes well, it should pair as “AW39”. Click on that in the device list in the app, to control your switch. You’ll see a representation of a four outlet power strip. The power button on the top of the displayed strip toggles all four outlets on or off at once. If some are already on, first they all go off, then they all go on. (Just like the physical switch on the device.) Clicking on an individual outlet toggles that outlet’s power on or off. #1 is the far right outlet, #4 is the far left one. You can rename each outlet in the app. The schedule button allows you to set on and off times for each outlet. One on or off action per rule, scheduled for ‘just once’, or to repeat on certain days. Times should be within 30 seconds of the specified minute. Expired ‘just once’ rules remain in the schedule, deactivated, and can easily be reactivated or edited. Swipe left on any schedule item to get the delete button. The countdown button lets you turn an outlet on after immediately counting down a time in hours and minutes. To rename the device itself in your list, click on the three dots in the upper right corner, then click on the pencil and paper icon to the right of the name. I’ll probably buy a few more, now that I know how to get them to work. But the supplier needs to hire an English-speaking technical writer, who has actually tried to perform the setup instructions! ... show more
