  • Nice addition to my backyard
Color: black
I recently purchased this outdoor pizza oven for my backyard. I have tried to make pizzas for my family with this oven, and let me tell you, it certainly meets my expectations. Not only is it compact and easy to use, but it also delivers awesome pizzas with that perfect crispy crust and nice flavor that you can only get from this type of oven. It's also easy to set up and use, so I can spend less time fussing over the fire and more time enjoying delicious pizzas with my family. Another great feature is its efficiency. Despite its compact size, this oven heats up quickly and cooks pizzas evenly in just a few minutes. Additionally, it's made with durable metal that is built to last. I’m glad to get this pizza oven for my family, and it is worth that small investment. ... show more

  • Best gift ever!
Color: black
I bought this pizza oven as a gift for my father for Christmas. My parents absolutely love this. They use it at least twice a week. Even though it uses pellets, it tastes like wood fire, brick oven pizza. The pizzas cook evenly (they do have to be turned) and they have that, I guess it’s like a slight char from being cooked that way. They’re just delicious It does have a very small oven so they had to buy a special pizza paddle thing, I believe they said 12 inches . And they have to use small crusts It is really heavy so they’re not going to be taking it with them camping like I had expected. My dad said this is the best gift I have given him and I’ve given him a lot of really good gifts over the years. If I could give it more stars, I would. ... show more

  • Pretty cool oven
Color: black
A lot of fun for the family. Practice before you attempt to do this on your own - it ain’t easy. Also, two cycles of pellets before cooking. That stone needs to be HOT for the dough to get crusty in the middle.

  • Functionality isn’t good with wood pellets. Use log instead
Color: black
I’m writing a whole other review in an effort to bring clarity. Initially I was using oak wood pellets which was a major hastle to keep going and the flame was too Intense and spread out, that it caused the crust to constantly burn and catch a light. (First two pictures were the failed attempts and last was with the change of shape of wood) Now that I’ve CHANGED my fuel option to 5” oak wood logs, this oven works like a charm. The manufacturer needs to get more technical and also give a suggestion of using the logs. Wood logs have a better control on the flame and allow the flame to climb with a flatter distribution against the ceiling allowing it to NOT burn the pizza vs the jumpy flame you get from pellets. Pizza came out super!!! For anyone having issues use, wood logs!! ... show more

  • Unfortunately, it's no match for the Rocky Mountain cold
Color: deep
We have one of those $1000 Brevilles, but thought this might be a nice change of pace because it uses wood - and the one thing the Breville can't do for us is give us smoky flavour. Let's start with the good: It's dead-easy to assemble, it's really light, and it came in at a price point that's very attractive compared to its competitors. That, unfortunately, is where it kind of stops in my case, and part of that is because of the positives above. The things that weren't great, but I could deal with: Lighting it was a bit janky. I put in a smoker stick, and it didn't appear to be doing the trick, so I pulled out my Grill Gun and took it the rest of the way. Nothing really wanted to fit back into place snugly or easily - everything was always just a LITTLE off. The chute lid on top wanted to lay a bit sideways and needed "pounded" down a bit, the lid in the front needed some nudging, etc. The dealbreakers: -This thing REALLY struggled to get to the recommended 400C temperature. For the record, I live in mountain elevation so it's already cold in the evenings, and lower air pressure because of the altitude. This probably isn't going to be a problem if you live in coastal South Carolina. That said, a friend's Ooni didn't have this problem. -Once I opened the front door to slide the pizza in, the temperature just dropped like a rock and it NEVER recovered. Matter of fact, it kept steadily declining, even after I put the front door back on, even though the instructions state that's not necessary. I actually thought maybe I had already burned through my pellets, but there were still plenty in the hopper. I understand they were aiming to get this thing at a really low price point, but in so doing they didn't provide enough insulation to prevent this issue. This is also a problem with the light weight of the product - because of the metal they used, it just doesn't retain heat well at all. A "10 minute pizza" ended up taking 15 just to be considered done, and there was no leopard spotting on the crust. -The manual rotation thing is a problem. Rotate every 40 seconds? That means you're tethered to this thing for the entire cook, and having to reach underneath a hot piece of metal to grab a knob and twist it. Again, I get the low price point goal, but adding an automated rotation utility would have increased the price by maybe $15 and would have been worth it. I would never be able to trust the kids with this task - they'd burn themselves. -The biggest reason I bought this thing was the other pizza ovens all use either propane or, rarely, charcoal. I thought this would be interesting because it's using wood (well, sawdust...) and would give us a wood fired pizza taste. There was a VERY subtle hint of smoke, but barely noticeable. I'm not sure what the fix here would be...or if there even is one they could engineer. All said and told, if you're A) on a tight budget and B) live somewhere where the weather never drops below 60, this might be a worthwhile purchase. It's half the price of the big boys. But if you're like me and live in a place with 4 seasons, this thing is useless in the fall. I doubt I could even get it to temp in our winter. For us, stick with the better manufactured items like the Ooni that have the insulation and heat retention to make it viable. This one's a return for me. ... show more
