At this time,I believe the filtration of the sun will be just what I expected. The color of Matte black is quite interesting against the grey siding. So far, I’m very happy! They just came today. Shipping takes forever, and the tracking info barely updated so I was afraid it got lost, but in the end the package came five days early! Shades hang from hooks that I believe are supposed to screw into the wall above the window frame. I can’t do that so mine hang a bit low, but I don’t really care. They look exactly as pictured, and they fit my windows like a glove. They don’t block any light, so you can fully see inside the house at night - not quite what I was wanting but it makes sense. To fix, I’ll just pull my curtains closed before bed. Overall I would say good quality, they’re thin pieces of bamboo so they can’t really be all that sturdy. Super easy to install as well. I’d give them a 9/10!

When the shades arrived, one end had mildew stains like it had sat in water. It wasn’t visible until the shade was unrolled. We left them up as it took so long to get them (slow boat from China apparently). Although the product description includes outdoor use, after a few weeks, you can see the amount of mildew that has appeared on the shades. Too bad they’ll be going in the trash, they looked great until they didn’t. Unfortunately, we had ordered a few more to finish going around the patio before the ones we hung up became mildewed, and wanted to cancel the new order since it would be two weeks until they were expected to be delivered. Then we discovered that there’s no way to contact the seller. When you order from them, they immediately print a shipping label so the status changes to shipped, even though the product shows it won’t be delivered for weeks, and FedEx (who would be delivering) said that they didn’t have the item so they couldn’t do anything, and Amazon can’t do anything either because it says that they’re shipped. So now we just have to wait until FedEx delivers them and refuse the delivery. Hopefully no one else who buys anything from them has a problem because there’s no fixing the problem. Amazon was kind enough to provide a partial refund because of the original mildew on the item, which was tolerable, but now it’s absolutely ruined. These shades should not be described as for outdoor use.

Could not be happier with this purchase! This shade is actually the most inexpensive and "lowest quality" in my home however, I have relieved more compliments on this one than I have for all of my others that cost me literally thousands of dollars each. Still a very manual operation to raise and lower but the mechanics of it work great and my guests have all mentioned that they dont mind or find it difficult to operate. Love when a bargain turns into a double victory!
