  • Great motor stand/dolly.
Size: 315 LBS
Cart is very sturdy and works exceptionally well with my 8 horse outboard. Assembly instructions could be improved.

  • Sturdy - well made
Size: 315 LBS
Well made - all hardware was there. There were not any Instructions but the picture was clear enough to assemble without problems. Very sturdy - using for a 20hp long shaft outboard.

  • Good for the price - does what it should
Size: 165 LBS
It built pretty cheaply and doesn't feel quality, however, it gets the job done. It holds my 10hp motor without trouble and is easy enough to wheel around. It's lightweight. Even though it doesn't feel super sturdy, I also can't see it breaking any time soon.

  • Can be made into an outboard motor stand that is stable and sturdy
Size: 165 LBS
Looking at the other reviews of this motor stand, one could conclude that it is a piece of junk. Out of the box that may be true, but it can be made into a useful motor stand with just a little bit of effort and minor expense. First let me say that it seems this item was manufactured for some other unknown purpose; surely no one would design a motor stand with a vertical transom with only a 4-in deep mount; the members that join the legs are too short to provide overall stability and they are connected with a ridiculously flimsy hook connection. Out of the box this should never be used for anything close to the stated 165-lb capacity. My theory is that when the original purpose for this item became irrelevant it was decided to try to market it as an outboard motor stand. So here is what I did to make the stand usable: cut 2-inches off the lower portion of the brace frame tubing; this will allow the transom to lean at about 13-degrees, similar to a boat transom. This will allow you to work on your motor in a more level condition. Second, cut off the rivets and remove the braces. Drill ¼-in holes in the frame tubing in the vicinity of where the rivets were. Purchase some 1/8x1-in steel bar stock and make new braces with ¼-in bolt holes 12-in apart. This will maintain the 13-degree angle. Cinch everything up with ¼-20 bolts and nuts. Finally, I added ¼-in plywood to the front, rear and top of the motor mount. I also replaced the cheap plastic wheels with improved models as noted below. The result is a compact outboard motor stand that is stable and sturdy. Nevertheless, I would not put a motor weighing more than 90-lbs on it. I like this stand so much I bought three more for my workshop. Here's the wheels I put on the stand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0897G37Z3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 For more rugged terrain you may want larger wheels. For these wheels, only remove 1-in. from the brace frame (see above) and the brace pin hole spacing should be reduced from 12-in to 11.5-in. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BWJY4AO?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title For either of the above wheels you can’t use the axle that comes with the stand; it is too short. https://www.amazon.com/National-Hardware-N179-804-4005BC-Smooth/dp/B002CTUBM4/ref=sr_1_3_pp?crid=3B7O8U3VD1CRK&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Ej0C5xjNnVZpi6EmivIkt-6jiTw6ZFzKdRODCgx69AzxZiUx7ddyWZpYTWKEU2odnueGXbRxeCcUewhCntONwnIJanuiGF0l02BMNjduL9fSJskZBM1cHUiCxp1WN7XdUoAsFn1_ASsCGNOH73jjFk3QzG4eq14S3cWmZuEayJNlIJBRVc04JmD3viE-KR89IqVfHP2w9Dig0JuemDrCBz6ejv3RO2IokeuM-aa2dKM.Chtf7HgwslF3NseHIRe1G_8giJbyhvr50jktUhOoJ7o&dib_tag=se&keywords=1%2F2%2Bx%2B36%2Bsteel%2Brod&qid=1752803921&sprefix=1%2F2-in%2Bsteel%2Brod%2Bx%2B36%2Caps%2C280&sr=8-3&th=1 These collars can be used to hold the wheels on the axles: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GSW5LQZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ... show more

  • Pretty flimsy materials
Size: 165 LBS
I would not attempt to hang a 160 lb motor on this stand! The claimed capacity is waaay overstated. I bought this for a 9.9 hp motor that weighs around 98 lbs but no way am I going to risk it on this flimsy stand. This is not a very rugged outboard motor stand but it would be fine for something like a trolling motor. The materials are very cheap, the tubing is thin and the paint finish is full of dirt. The injection molded wheels have defects like they were rejected by quality control and pulled from a dumpster. The hardware is undersized for the holes and will need to be replaced with proper HW. This thing is only worth about 20 bucks if that, but it cost over $60. At that price I'd say pass it by and find a better quality stand for your expensive outboard. ... show more

  • Use with caution
Size: 165 LBS
This is not worth $60. It is quite flimsy and dangerous. - the horizontal bar does not lock in place and can easily slip - this barely holds my 60lb 6HP mercury outboard. I see the tube flexing. False advertisement that it can hold over 100lbs. - If you bump it, it would fall over. Be very careful. - the mount is too vertical. It should lean to about 13-15 degrees. - it has wheels, but if you try to move it with a motor mounted, it almost fell. There is no stability. Be extremely careful when you move this with a motor mounted. Go slow. You can use this stand just for storage so giving it 2 stars. Just be careful with it. ... show more
