Pretty nice little motor for the price. Run our 8 foot RIB pretty good ( around 5 kts) with 2 people. Will not get us on plane though. I was very impressed with the fast shipping time! I haven't tried the motor yet because I had to order a new shift handle. The box looked like it had been through a tornado. When I opened it, I thought maybe the motor had fallen out of its box because all of the accessories were strowed throughout the box and the Styrofoam was destroyed. The shift lever was broken and it had black electrical tape wrapped around it! I then began to wonder if they sent me a motor that had been returned back to the factory because I noticed excessive exhaust residue around the prop. I then pulled the rope to get the feel of it and it started right up and sputtered out. Then it bellowed smoke from the propeller for a minute or so. Maybe they test run the engines before shipment? It has a couple of scuffs on it from the treacherous ride. The motor doesn't seem to have ever been used on a boat. I've decided to keep this outboard motor and fix it and try it and I will edit this post to let everyone know how it turns out! ... show more
