I love this stuff. I worked a dime size amount in my palms and then raked with my fingers through my dry hair and I scrunched it in but also finger coiled my waves and bangs. I have shoulder length cut with bangs that is a mix of my fine, thick, straight, wavy and curly locks and this works wonders for me. Usually my hair gets so frizzy because of all my different textures. Some how this makes all my hair types manageable and stylable for a cohesive look. I used to use Aveda's Control Paste but I like this more. Also the smell is not overpowering for me. Just use a little and it goes a long way! I can't even smell it now that it is in my hair. I love these simple ingredients too. 👌

Devacurl used to make a product called Beautiful Mess that was my go-to for defined curls and added volume. When they discontinued it, I tried every version of a pomade that I could find and this is it people! I use it as a final styling product on dry hair. My hair is just below shoulders, medium thickness and S to corkscrew curls. I use about a dime sized amount which I rub into my palms and start with the ends and work my way to the scalp, upside down. I use whatever's left on my hands and rub it into my crown bcs I like the added lift. Be careful about how much you use, too much and you will look greasy and your hair will feel sticky. I live in a super humid climate and it lasts all day without making me look like a frizzball. It does have a strong smell but I like it so it doesn't bother me. It does add volume which I also like. Don't let the price put you off, one jar lasts me about 3 months.

I used to buy my hair product at the grocery store (ie not high quality stuff). My wife gets free samples of various products sent to her periodically as she's a beauty content creator and she let me try this brand. I haven't looked back. My hairstyle has a little length at the top and a lot of texture so it all stands up. QUAI maintains its hold even overnight and doesn't give you that wet head look so it appears natural. I wish it were cheaper but you get what you pay for!

This is not matte at all and does not hold whatsoever. My hair looks greasy, wet, and limp. I have fine yet thick hair so I need something matte and strong and this is not that. It does smell nice. Don't know if I can return which sucks so I may be forced to simply throw it away because it would be of no use to me.
