The flip down fabric covers the face cradle for when you want to lay on your back. I loved this chair it was so comfortable. It was easy to transport didn't weigh much. It supported my weight for awhile but then after a while I noticed it started to rip. I bought the red one and it kind of faded color quickly. The support it gave held up and then started ripping until it ripped all the way through.

Went on a trip recently. Part of the family bought the backpack beach chairs, while some of us used these lounge chairs. It was nice being on the beach and being able to knock off some of the sand from my feet and have them reclined a bit. For roughly the same price as the chairs, I'm happy with my purchase. They were probably more comfortable in transit because of the straps, but the tradeoff down at the beach was worth it to me. If you're walking a long distance holding multiple things, you maybe better off with the backpack chairs. Pros: Comfort - (7/10) decently comfortable for a portable chair. Keep in mind if you test this out on a hard surface before you go to a beach that the sand will have more give when you're sitting there. Nothing spectacular, but for what it was, it did a good job. Price - for beach chairs around this same price, I would go with these again. Quality of chair and fabric - (7/10) I don't know if others have had issues with quality control, but the fabric and seams seemed like they would last a decently long time. Cons: Strap - (3/10) the clips on the straps and the metal loops on the chair were not heavy duty. I can see something breaking there fairly quickly. It may be wise to figure out a way to reinforce or change out both pieces. Also, the strap is uncomfortable. There is not a padded part, so if you were burnt at all from the beach and this is rubbing up on the burn, it will not feel great. The straps are functional but not much more. I'm considering buying a padded strap for this prior to another trip. Hope this helps! Notes about using the chair: 1) First thing I would do when unfolding is to open the legs and make sure they are each pushed past a 90 degree angle. If this is not done, it may shut close randomly while you're sitting. 2) Then I would fold out the back rest and leg rest all the way to where it lays completely flat. At this point, you can begin to adjust the angle of the back rest. If you go too far up and want it to be more reclined, you will have to completely fold the back rest up before you can reset it to a completely flat/reclined position and begin to adjust the angle again.

Comfy, easy to use, sturdy and long enough for me (I’m 5’8). Light for carrying. Gives shade to read book or have phone under without getting hot. Just wish the metal was easier to hinge but will likely get better with use, just a bit stiff now.

I never write reviews, but I had such a terrible experience with customer service that I thought I needed to share. I purchased this chair and it arrived to me broken (chair wouldn't fold out flat all the way, a metal piece seemed to be bent and stuck). I went to Amazon customer support to return it, but the return had to go through the seller, Ostrich. I reached out to Ostrich to process my return and get me a replacement chair and they didn't respond for days. I followed up, and when they finally did respond, they asked for information that I had already provided in my initial email (I guess they just didn't read it?) - prompting a lot of back and forth without a clear ask on their end with what information they actually needed. When we finally got all the basic information squared away, all they could do (per their warranty) is issue me a coupon code for a new chair through their website, less shipping... Okay, sure. Went to the Ostrich website to purchase a replacement, they had limited inventory so couldn't get the same colorway (annoying but whatever), put in the coupon code they gave me, and it was going to cost me an additional $30 to get a new chair... Not trying to sound like a Karen here, but not sure how it makes sense that a customer would spend $70 to get a broken chair and then have to pay another $30 to get it replaced. (The quality of this chair is definitely not worth $100 and neither is trying to figure out how to dispose of the broken thing). I opened up my concern with Ostrich on June 6, 2024 - it is now June 24, 2024 and this issue is still not resolved with them. I contacted Amazon again and they made it right, but it definitely turned me off from this brand. All around pretty exhausting experience with a very lack-luster outcome. and the chair itself is pretty cheap - it's lightweight but not super sturdy or comfortable. Definitely look elsewhere.

This is a nice chaise lounge that I ordered to replace one that tore last year. It looks like this new one has been reinforced in the spot that my old one ripped so hopefully this one lasts longer. It is very comfortable to lay on your back or on your stomach. I like the holes for my face and hands so I can use my phone while laying on my stomach. It comes ready to go out of the box and is very easy to open and use. It has several different options to lay flat or sit up. I like how quickly I can close it up and carry it to a new spot as it's not that heavy or bulky and it comes with a carrying strap.

Easy set up and light weight. But this is not for consistent use because the fabric/stitching and metal poles don’t feel very durable or sturdy. I believe it has a 250lb weight limit, but I wouldn’t trust it to hold even 200lbs. This is a great option for someone who isn’t going to use them daily/weekly. I got them for guests to use when they visit me since I live near a beach.

This lounge chair is really great. Love the pillow for your head, but the fact that it also moves so your face can fit down in it when you’re on your stomach is amazing. I will say I do wear glasses and they don’t work so well through the hole, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me. So far seems very sturdy and a great chair !
