My recommendation after using this toaster for about two weeks : Do Not Buy this toaster if you want to set a dial and expect toasting accuracy and quality! Also, the lever to put the toast down is temperamental about staying down when you are lowering the bread. I bought this to replace a very old 2 slice Oster toaster. Very disappointed with this toaster…I’m back to the same issues I had with the 15-20 yr old toaster. I was looking for a toaster that fit on my counter better and I love the retro look. I also like that it is a good brand name. I have had appliances before from this brand. The toaster is built well and works well. It fits the bread that I have which has large slices. The bread seems a bit moist and this toaster handles it well. I have it setting on 2 and could make it a little darker. It toasts a little lighter on one side so adjusting the setting would work. I always buy a toaster with cancel so if it starts to burn you can cancel right away and save the toast. The toast comes out hot. It is a matter of finding the right setting for how you like toast. Doesn't really toast evenly and ours runs friggin HOT. Like keep this bad boy at 2-4 range otherwise your pulling out coals my guy. But hey it's affordable and looks nice. Bagel function is nice for me. It's pretty much all plastic and very light, so not sure how long it'll last.
