This belly binder is comfy. I just had bariatric surgery. I was really uncomfortable and in pain walking around without the belly support. I knew I would benefit from this belly binder because I fought myself hugging my belly as I walked to alleviate some of the movement. The belly binder was a blessing. I can walk like a normal human now, and be supported. My favorite thing about this, is that as I lose weight, I can just adjust it to what ever tension is comfortable for me. It is tricky for me to do on my own because of my body shape, so I have help putting it on. Every body is different, you may be able to do it on your own. My only issue with it is that is rides up… but again that’s because of my body shape. I figured it would do that anyway.

I returned this because it folded down atop itself, wouldn’t stay up while crawling up. One might expect that it being elastic but it didn’t suit my purpose either— to hold up my lower (apron) belly. Maybe there isn’t anything for that; this isn’t it.

Product worked great following my surgery the first couple of days but quickly lost its shape and elasticity. If you do not have a flat waist, it’ll fold into every curve and never flatten out again. It could benefit from slight boning to help maintain shape.

Belt is made of flimsy material & does not hold its shape. Would only be good if you wanted to keep some gauze dressing in place post-surgery with a light wrap. It also rides up; won't stay in place.

I got this abdominal binder to use post surgery very soon. Since I have never used anything like this I am unsure how sturdy they should be. The binder fabric/elasticity reminds of an ace bandage and feel it could me made a bit more sturdy. It's very stretchy and you are able to make it as tight or loose as you need but I did need help to get it on properly.

I’ve used other binders but they are so tight and restrictive that it’s difficult to wear for long periods of time. And others that are so loose, they are a complete waste of time as they provide virtually no support. This binder falls more into the second category BUT actually has a bit of support. It won’t make you feel like you have a board stuck to your back but also not so restrictive that you can’t breathe or move around. I do wish it was a bit stronger, however, to keep my belly in and give me stronger support. Also, I’m on the shorter side so a 12-inch binder is a bit too wide for my frame and feels like it takes over my most of my torso. On the plus side, the binder is comfortable to wear and doesn’t get too hot. It’s flexible, soft and will stretch as you need it while still providing some support. It was easy to put on and has really strong Velcro to keep your stomach in place. It is priced at $29.99, which is comparable to other binders. Because most other binders are for surgeries, pregnancy, etc. it can be difficult to find one this size (2X fits 38”-62” and 3X fits 58”-78”), so I was thrilled to see it and be able to order. Also, most products made for larger people come with an additional cost so to not find a product with a hidden surcharge was nice. I can’t give the item the full 5 stars but it does pretty well for when I need a binder that is comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.

I have worked in a standing job for 40 years, providing Physical Therapy in Hospitals and Outpatient clinics. It's taken a toll on my body, including my back. I developed SI joint syndrome that was made worse with the pregnancies of my two daughters 30+ yrs ago. Back support and extra abdominal support helps when I have a flare-up. I've tried many support devices over the years and prefer this type of item. Comparing other items of this type through the years, I have noticed some differences and details affecting decisions while choosing different products. Regarding this abdominal binder: * Reasonably priced * Item description is accurate * Easy to put on * Comfortable to wear * Wider brace to support more back and abdominal area! (some can be pretty narrow for a tall person) * Helps give extra support to back, pelvis and abdominal area (which helps support the back!) * washable (may want to place in a pillow case or laundry garment bag before to reduce possible damage to brace and other laundry) My ONLY "less positive" comments regarding the binder: (reason for -1 star) * I wish it was a little "stiffer elastic" for more support, without having to pull binder tighter (it still offers good support) * The binder is secured with "hook and loop" (velcro) style closure, minus the "loop" part, since it attaches directly to the brace. I understand it is made that way because of the varying places different users will have to secure it ("multiple-size"/"one size fits many" product). if the brace gets worn frequently, the area where the "hook" part is repeatedly placed gets "snagged" so much that it eventually has problems attaching there. Overall, this is a nice brace and offers good support and relief!
