I was initially sent a package that had obviously been opened and returned. I ordered a medium and received a small inside a medium labeled bag. It was missing the battery, and the tags were ripped. I was so disappointed. However, they sent a replacement immediately, and it got here within two days. The replacement was perfect, brand new, and looked great. The medium fits well, it’s a little tall but boy it feels so good to stay warm!

We love our vest. Both my wife and I have purchased these vests. Incredibly comfortable and warm for walks in the Pacific Northwest weather. Battery life is exceptional but we also bought a spare battery to interchange, which allows us to always have our vest fully charged and ready to go. The workmanship and materials are excellent and have held up well these past few years. This is an excellent choice for heated vests.

10/18/18 UPDATE: As I mentioned below, I hadn’t contacted the seller prior to posting my review. After posting my review and initiating a return, I was contacted within 24 hours by the seller to try and rectify the situation. They apologized for the outdated picture showing an incorrect location of the two front heating elements (supposed to be in the chest area, but were located in the pocket area). They explained that they had sent out almost 400 questionnaires about the vest and after analyzing the results decided to change the heating element location. They have since removed that picture from Amazon to make sure they are accurately advertising the product. My 2nd issue was the loose battery connection. They offered to replace the battery free of charge and within 24 hours had a new one shipped out and I received it within two days and the new battery works flawlessly. My wife purchased this vest for a couple of particular outdoor events we were attending and loved how warm and well it has worked. She actually is wearing the vest almost daily and has no complaints. I want to commend CSA Apparel in the quick responses and exceptional customer service. They have exceeded my expectations and I would purchase products again without hesitation and truly recommend this product 100%. ORIGINAL POST: I’m hoping that the vest I ordered for my wife is a rare instance of quality control. I’m writing this review prior to returning the product and messaging the manufacturer to ensure my review gets posted. After significant research we chose this vest because of the high review rating not only on Amazon, but also several other websites. The product arrived today (as expected) and as detailed in the instructions, I charged the battery prior to testing the vest. I plugged in the battery and handed the vest to my wife, she put it on and attempted to start the electric heat, but it did not turn on. When we checked the battery it had become unplugged from the vest when I simply handed it to my wife... It will be near impossible to keep battery plugged into the vest unless you plan to use it only while sitting or lying down. While this is irritating, I could work around the issue by using a rubber band or Velcro type strap to hold the plug in the battery. The 2nd issue with this product, which is the main reason that I’m writing this review is that the heating elements are not where they are depicted in the description and the “collar” heating element is only a single wire that is sewn into the very top of the collar. The description states that the two heating elements in the front of the product are located in the chest area. The heating elements in the product that we received are both located in the hand pocket area of the vest and greatly reduce our need/purpose for the product. This vest was purchased based on the (apparently inflated) reviews and the multiple heating elements and their locations in the vest. I’ve attached pictures showing the locations of the heating elements that were expected in the purchased product sewn into the vest for reference.

I tried several brands of heated vests at different price points. This one is the winner based primarily on fabric and zipper quality compared to competitors, though there is room for improvement. It also fits smaller than competing brands I tried, and seems accurate to the size chart. Pros: warm, works as expected, fits as expected, battery lasts around the time advertised, zippers and construction are high quality, nicely packaged Cons: battery placement right on hip makes this tighter and harder to wear a winter coat over. Uses a custom battery connector rather than standard USB so can't use other powerbanks you may already have. Only has 4 heating zones (some options have up to 9). Much more expensive than competitors and ships from EU so returns (if needed) are painful. This vest could be improved a lot by either moving the battery or proving multiple options for placement. A second pocket could be added so the battery could be worn on the lower back, while keeping the current option (wearer's choice!). I can see how the current placement could be more comfortable while driving, but it's not great to have it resting on the hip bone for walking/standing/layering clothes over. I would love to see this with more heating zones, and fleece lined all over, or at least the pockets. Like other reviews have said I would prefer if the button didn't light up, or was placed on the inside of the vest, maybe inside the collar for easy access.
