This Orolay Women's Winter Down Jacket Slim Fit runs small but I love it. First off, I read other reviews so I sized up one size and I was delighted to find it fits me perfectly. There isn't a lot of extra room sizing up just one size so I don't think I could wear a bulky sweater underneath. This is just fine for me because I live in Texas and it doesn't get crazy cold here but if it does where you live, I suggest sizing up 2 sizes. Likewise, if you have a large bust or larger arms. They really mean it when they say slim fit. The key features on this coat are that it's long enough to cover your bottom and your upper thighs. The hemline is shaped so that it's much longer in the back than the front so you'll be warm even sitting on bleachers or benches. It has sewn in ribbed cuffs with thumb holes so NO cold air whistling up your sleeve. It has multiple pockets with zip closures so you can keep your phone and other necessities safe and secure. There are double vents at the back hem with metal, snap. closures. There is a front zip closure and an attached hood. The insulation is 90% duck down and 10% feathers. The outer shell and lining is 100% woven polyester so it's lightweight. This is a channel quilted, puffer, coat that is unique because of the styling. The cut and construction is slim so you don't look like the Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man! The length makes you look taller and slimmer. It's very warm so I was comfortable in 25 degree weather without any extra clothing layered underneath. I got the blue because I mostly wear blue jeans. They go great with this coat. ... show more

Love it! Style is very flattering - does not make me look like the Michelin Man! Perfect length for a petite woman. I am 5'1", 115 lbs and got a S in Caper color. Great hood with drawstring for tightening, sleeves are perfect for me, but may be somewhat short for a larger woman. It is not extra roomy and could not accommodate several layers, but it does fit nicely with a bulky sweater underneath. I have had no problems with the zipper. Amazon suggested an XS, but that would have been too small. If you're on the fence, size up. It seems to be very warm and will work perfectly for my winter vacation in 30-35 degree weather. I was very pleasantly surprised by this coat. I wanted something lightweight yet still warm for Boston winters, and this coat delivered. The good: - Lightweight yet still warm. - Flattering fit. I love how the hood is not attached to the zipper so that the collar stands up even if you do not have it zipped all the way. The length of the coat is also nice. Cute button detail in the back. I also want to comment on the thumb hole detail- others have found this annoying but I liked this detail. It is tight, but not annoyingly so. I think it is functional, particularly if your goal is to stay warm. I also had no problem just bypassing the thumb hole and wearing it around my wrist. I guess it would be annoying if you had a watch that needed to be accessible, but this was not an issue for me. - Color. I tried the Gray/Medium and then the Cream/Large. I liked both colors a lot. The bad: - Sizing. I am 5'5" and 150lbs (size M, 6/8), and originally ordered my usual size Medium. It fit, and was very cute, but the shoulders were really tight so I worried about adding layers. So I tried sizing up to a Large, and it was HUGE. I am so bummed, because otherwise the coat is exactly what I'm looking for. Bought this in March 2025... it's Jan 2026 and I can report that this coat has been one of my best purchases to date. I bought the burgundy color. I wear it to work on an almost daily basis with business casual attire, I wear it to the park with the kids, I wore it during early spring soccer mornings, and late fall soccer evenings. I had three *must have* features that I was searching for: thumb holes in the elastic cuffs, length had to be at minimum mid thigh - close to the knees, and style needed to lean toward classic lines vs. trendy. This coat has additional features such as the two-way zipper so that you can sit comfortably, and the neck and hood provide full and high coverage. When fully zipped-up it covers my mouth and if I'm not wearing the hood it gives really great wind blockage in the back and doesn't gap at the neck like a lot of other coats do. The hand pockets are the perfect location for actually using them (I'm 5' 5"). The workmanship and fabric quality is on the same level as other brands I own such as CK, Nine West, and Jessica Simpson. This is a solid option for active winter gear with streamlined style for versatility. It took me forever to find what I was looking for, and this was it! ... show more

    • Great coat! Super warm, but also lightweight!

After reading a bunch of reviews off of Amazon, I finally decided on this Orolay coat. I needed a practical, everyday coat for the cold and often gusty days in Ohio when I’m out walking our dogs. This one was rated quite well and I liked that it had the double zipper, was longer in length, and had a hood that didn’t have any fake fur on it. Though I like the look of those types of hoods, I’ve found that they start to look matted and gross after a while and washing it doesn’t help. So I opted for this one. If you read several of the reviews posted on here, many people said to size up and I will say that it’s true. Size up if you don’t have very skinny arms or are on the bustier side. I’m normally a medium, but I got a large instead. The arms are definitely designed more snug fitting and the hand warmers are too. Other than that advice, I’d say go for it. I’m super short so the coat hits me almost to the knees, but it’s great because it blocks out a lot of the wind and you stay nice and warm. In spite of the warmth, it’s very lightweight, doesn’t appear bulky, and figure flattering. I love how you can unzip the bottom while sitting! It makes the coat very comfortable while driving. I read many reviews that said sometimes the down inside may smell. There was zero odor when I opened it and none since. I don’t feel any feathers poking me either. It is definitely wrinkled when you first take it out of the packaging, but fluffs up nicely once you open it up and air it out a bit. I have yet to wash it so that’ll be a test to be seen, but otherwise I say go for it. It seems like a very well made coat.     • VERY PRETTY AND VERY WARM

After wearing this coat in super cold weather (25F degrees) a few times, I am resubmitting my original review and adding another star. I still consider it a "dressy" coat and would not wear it snowmobiling, BUT ... it is VERY, VERY warm and the length helps keep my whole body nice and cozy. The fit is nice and tailored (almost slimming). And the high collar (separate from the hood) works very well to keep cold wind off my neck. I found the black sleeve cuffs a tad tight (esp if you have big hands) but tolerable. The double zipper is FANTASTIC (it's sturdy and works perfectly). AND best of all there are LOTS of pockets. I was going to save it for just dressy events but have found it to be so comfortable and functional that I've been grabbing it first (before my other coats) ever since I got it. Sleeves were the problem. The arm Pit area is super tight - no range of motion. And the hand cover sleeves that come out from the bottom of sleeve are a nuisance. Too long and too tight. They get in the way. The rest of the fit was fine and it’s a nice coat. But the sleeves need work.

Thank goodness I bought this! ! It’s so warm and cozy. I don’t even need to carry a purse because it has 4 zippered pockets outside and a good sized zippered pocket inside. This coat is so flattering as it fits and then flares from the waist. I read the other reviews and sized up which is the best advice as a coat shouldn’t fit too tightly and make you feel like a sausage. Plus, you can wear layers on the chilliest of snow days. I purchased the blue one and it is the loveliest tanzanite blue. I love the pop of color. I’m short, so this is just what I wanted. A long coat that covers long sweaters and shirts without them sticking out from the bottom. The hand-warmer inner sleeves are such a nice bonus! The hood isn’t bulky and has stretchy drawcords that make it seal out the cold and the front zipper zips up to the top of my neck for added protection and it has a zipper “garage” so your neck doesn’t get chafed by it. No scarf needed. If I had one wish, I would wish it were waterproof too. Then it would be the best coat ever! But, it’s great for a dry cold winter’s day so, yay! ... show more
