  • Excellent coffee
This coffee is very good. It is flavorful and bold. Smooth taste.

  • Dark side of medium roast
This coffee arrived in a vacuum sealed bag. The vacuum was intact. The aroma upon opening the bag smelled strongly of dark, fresh coffee… perhaps a little chocolaty. It’s whole bean so make sure you have a grinder. It ground well for me. I used in a drip pot. 7 tbs of ground coffee for about 5 cups of water. It brewed up a nice, roasty, cup of coffee. I would say it’s on the strong/dark side of medium with virtually no bitterness and little acidity. I typically drink dark roast and prefer a bolder cup of coffee this was just a bit lighter than my usual dark roast (my wife thought it was not strong enough to make a Cuban coffee with). Overall, this coffee make a pleasant cup of Joe. That said, in my opinion, it is sort of expensive (currently ~$18) for a ~9oz bag. However, single origin and organic coffees often come with a premium price tag so it isn’t out of the ballpark. ... show more

  • So disappointing, no taste of coffee and seems very stale...
I very much wanted to try organic Peru coffee beans, but unfortunately, my bag appeared to be so old that most of the roasting and use-by dates were rubbed/faded off where I could hardly read them. I could see that the dates were sometime in May 2022 and May 2023, so it looked like the sell-by date was at least a year past. I tried them beans anyway, and they had an odd, damp wood smell and did not even smell like coffee. There was really no taste at all, and I had to throw away the whole bag. I really wanted to try them fresh, but it appears I received a very stale bag. It arrived with all the air smashed out of it and the bag flattened. It looks like there is no way to get a fresh bag to know what the coffee beans should be like. ... show more

  • Very versatile single origin whole bean
I've enjoyed brewing the Cusco organic coffee. It really can achieve an enjoyable cup using any brewing method. I played around with grind, temperature, and brew times, and each one presented new flavors while still making a pleasurable drink. I mostly enjoy pulling the rich caramels, followed by a bright finish using a hotter brew and a larger grind in a pour-over. ... show more

  • Ok coffee but pricey
It would appear looking at other re iees some bags came vacuum sealed and other were compromised. My bag was not vacuum sealed and while the coffee beans were ok there was nothing particularly special about the blend. Just an average tasting light roast. Thinking some of the flavor must have been lost if the seal was lost. At the current cost of over $17 for a half bag of coffee I wouldn't consider getting again. Hopefully the seller can figure out the seal issue so that you receive a consistently fresh bag every time. ... show more

  • Nice blend!
This is whole beans with a medium roast. It has a nice balance of flavors with very light notes of both caramel and chocolate. You get a bit of sweetness coming through from those two flavors, enough to make sure the finish isn’t bitter. It is a medium acidity coffee. I’m more of a light acidity person. To me, it’s just enough acidity to take away from full enjoyment. Overall, it’s a good specialty coffee though. ... show more

  • Great flavor
These beans have a nice bold, roasted, chocolatey aroma upon opening the bag. I have used them so far in a moka pot with a fine grind, and a cold brew carafe with a coarse grind, and it turns out great either way. No bitterness, not too acidic, good earthy and chocolatey flavor.

  • This was likely stale
The bag I received was almost certainly stale. I've been drinking both ground and whole bean medium roast coffee every day for years and it's pretty easy to tell when the coffee has gone bad. The beans were extremely dry, and none of the coffee stuck to my Krups spice grinder when I ground the beans up (even the grounds from beans that aren't oily and fairly dry but still fresh stick a bit to the walls of my Krups grinder, there was none of that here). I got zero bubbles or foaming in my aero press when brewing, which is another sign the coffee is old (and I brewed multiple cups to be sure). I also tried this as cold brew, but again the flavor was off with no chocolate and no caramel notes - just hollow and acidic. It's a shame, the coffee sounds great but my bag wasn't. ... show more
